Hi everyone :wave2:

We will be in Florida in April visiting family and doing beach type stuff. We were thinking of stopping off in Orlando for a few days on the way home. It seems too short for WDW, and let's face it, the ticket costs are prohibitive at WDW for a short stop. So we thought that this would be a nice time to go and try out Sea World since we always say we'd like to go and never do. The last time DH and I were there was in 1999. The kids have never been. Our family consists of DH, me, DD 6, and DD & DS 3 (twins). I'm sure there is enough to fill one day but is there enough to keep a family of animal lovers occupied for two days? Also, does anyone know if they offer anything equivalent to WDW's guest assistance pass? DS is autistic and often has trouble waiting with crowds. At WDW, we've been able to wait in an alternative location and then join in when it is our turn, and this works out well. No big deal if they don't, but we will just need to make sure that we plan a lot better. Thanks in advance for your help!

shameless bump. Just looking for an opinion from those who have been there/ done that more recently, is there enough to keep a family entertained for two or possibly two and a half days at Sea World?

IMHO there's defintely enogh to do over two days, especially if you take it at a slow pace, which we do, that's the best thing about it! There are so many shows to see, plus we spends ages just watching the dolphins, sting rays, sea lions etc. There are also the rides to go on. We usually spend three or four days there, though not always full days.

Oh just remembered, there's the Happy Harbour for Little ones to play on too!

We will be there in May for a couple of days. We are very excited about it!:cool1:

Thank you both. It's been so long since we've been there, that we really don't know too much about the park anymore. We do plan to take our time and relax and enjoy stuff. I imagine it will be hard to pull my kids away from the animals- they adore animals. I wonder where they could possibly get that from ;) Thanks for the reassurance that there is lots to do there, as I said, it's been almost ten years since we've been there.

What is the Happy Harbour? I vaguely recall something with water and getting wet, is that it? If it's for kids, it's not something we would have paid too much attention to on our last trip. If it is a water area, should I bring swimsuits for the kids or just a change of clothes?

We went last April with Grandparents, 7yo boy, 5yo girl, and 2yo boy. We went to specifically go to SeaWorld. We ended up going 2 and a half days, and we only left then because Grandma has some health issues and was tired.
We had a blast. We were able to see everything without being in a huge hurry since we spent so much time there. We could take our time with the observation points and saw all the shows, too. We did a lot of other traveling last summer, but this remains the kids' favorite trip.

Happy Harbour is a play area for children, but most things can be used by adults, too. There is a huge climbing area with slides, a bouce around, some kiddie rides, and some water squirters. There was an unexpected cold snap when we were there, but the kids can do extra clothes or a bathing suit. There is a bathroom nearby.

The only lines we encountered were at Atlantis and the little roller coaster in Happy Harbour. Luckily, we rode the little one the first day we were there and it wasn't so crowded. But, it can be a long wait for a very short ride.

I would go back again anytime. Hope you go and have a great time.
