Sea world Discovery cove

Hello All
I am travelling with my wife to Disney Orlando the last 2 weeks of September
Staying at a disney hotel
We would like to go to discovery cove one day as I have always wanted to swim with the dolphins
Can anyone offer any advice on how to save money for this trip?
Currently on thier website its $488 (my wife is not swimming with dolphins)
It does include unlimited access to their sister parks but £300 is a lot for us
Will it be cheaper to get the tickets when we arrive in USA?

It could actually be even more expensive to buy your admission if you wait until you arrive in Orlando to purchase your Discovery Cove tickets. The way that DC pricing works, the more tickets there are still available, the cheaper those tickets are. As the number of available admissions decrease, the balance of the tickets get more expensive. I purchased our tickets for this August way back in October 2013. At that time, they were $259 pp. Current prices for the same date are $339.

Discovery Cove is an amazing park, and well worth the money IMHO. Remember that DC admission includes 14 days of access to both SeaWorld and Aquatica (to be used either before or after your DC day, or a combination of both ... and you can even add Busch Gardens for an addition $25-ish per person). SW & AQ are fantastic parks as well (some of my absolute favourites, even over Disney) and well worth visiting. Your food is included at DC (breakfast, lunch, all snacks, and all beverages...including unlimited alcohol). Parking is included in your admission. You get a complimentary 6 x 8 family photo. They even provide sunscreen, shampoo & conditioner....literally everything you will need. And you have the option of adding an unlimited parking pass to your DC admission for $30 that covers 2 weeks of parking fees at SeaWorld & Aquatica ($40 if you want the pass that also includes BG) .... a great savings.

Is it just you and your wife for that $488 total? I just checked the DC website and there are dates available during the last two weeks of September for $229 (including the dolphin swim) and $169 (no dolphin swim). That's only $398. If you are looking at ticket resellers in the UK, it might be more advantageous for you to book via DC directly.

Other than what the previous poster mentioned, there really isn't any great way to save on DC tix. If your trip dates are flexible, you could check the calendar on the DC website and see if there are any upcoming dates that seem to be cheaper (usually during certain times of year), but otherwise you are stuck.

That being said, it is an amazing day! We took our kids in 2008 and the kiddos both did the dolphin swim... DH and I did not (too cheap). But it was still a wonderful day with SO MUCH to do! DH loved it more than Disney (well.... we always knew he was a little odd! ). All of your food and beverages (including beer) are included... you can literally show up with your swimsuit and be all set to go! They do give you sunscreen that is better for the animals, but it wasn't enough for my pale blonde kiddos and I had brought along some Coppertone.

My biggest complaint was the lines for the food at lunch.... but probably our own fault for trying to eat right at noon.
