My family which included 3 adults and 3 kids did not get our money's value out of the Dinning plan at all! There are a few resturants you can use your wristband at. They are all in the same location and you CAN NOT use your wristebands on SNACKS!!!! So, if you are at the dolphin area and want a bottle water you have to PAY for it in addition to the price of the wristeband. In my opion it is a big RIP OFF!!!! If we were to go to Sea World again we would just pay for our food.
Another warning....ALL except one of the restaurants CLOSES at 5pm (or maybe it was 5:30)...but to me that's the middle of dinner time! We went to eat and found one place had closed literally moments before (you could still see people inside in line). So we head off to another thinking must just be that one place....find the others shuttered up too....and mind you the restaurants are pretty spread out so we're doing these long walks just to find them closed even though we're heading to the place the closed restaurant tells us to go. So I finally had just had it....went and complained to Customer Service that no where did it say all but one place was closed at dinner time. And that had it said that we'd at least have known not to eat at that one restaurant for lunch...we didn't really want the same thing for dinner, and besides it was closing in half an hour too! They tried telling me that the hours of operation were listed on the schedule, but then gee, couldn't find it on the schedule. Claimed that the parks prints these each day and they're "always" listed. Up shot was that we ended up getting a refund of our entire dining plan because we weren't notified. I would have been happy with a half refund since we did use it to lunch and to get drinks mid afternoon, but she offered full and I took it.
We also realized early on that we'd have had to really work it to make the money back....the prices are typical amusement park high, but they really are pretty decent sized so next time the three of us will share two meals for lunch and probably just do snacks late afternoon to tide us over. THe park closes relatively early (maybe longer in summer of course) so we'll just hit something on the drive back to the hotel for dinner. It was also a little bummer to have to choose based on what's included rather than being able to choose whatever smelled good nearby, lol.
It did appear that buying the refillable mug might be worth it, especially if you can share it with others in your family (I know our family has no problem with this, but some families simply won't share drinks, to each his own, lol). I think it was under $10 and then all refills are $1....and you can bring it back to the park on your next visits. We probably won't do that simply because we don't drink soda much and we try to not carry stuff (we use fanny packs for tickets, money and cell phone) so having to lug it around would be a pain for us. Now...if you have a stroller, or a backpack that could fit it, that'd be ideal.
The food was decent, but nothing to get overly excited about. Better than most of the counter service at
Disneyland, sad to say.
