Our 'open dates' to go to sea world are from 23rd-28th. How busy are those days??? Certain days we should DEFINATELY NOT go? Is Christmas PACKED at Sea World?

I have never even looked into going to the one in Orlando, so I have no idea what to expect. We've been to the San Diego one, but we were there on a not so busy day in the spring...

We cannot go at the beg. of our vacation, as we are doing 4 days of Universal and IOA then. We are just trying to schedule the rest of our trip.

We cannot go at the beg. of our vacation, as we are doing 4 days of Universal and IOA then. We are just trying to schedule the rest of our trip.

The week starting the day after Christmas is the busiest week of the entire year. And that's at any of the 3 theme parks. Seaworld is the least popular of the big 3 (Universal-IOA/Disney/Seaworld) So what you would expect to be busy at Disney or Universal IOA will not be similar at Seaworld. With that said, I would do the 23rd or 24th. Last year, Seaworld announced that they set an all time attendance record for Christmas day and each of the following days for the week after Christmas. You will have manageable crowds on the 23rd and 24th as most people are still getting into town at that time.

Seaworld will be offering their Christmas celebrations on both the 23rd and 24th. These celebrations continue until New Years day. The Christmas celebration is included with park admission and includes special night time Christmas themed shows, such as Shamu Christmas Miracles and Clyde And Seamore countdown to Christmas. These two shows are different than the Shamu and Sealion and Otter day shows. At night there is also an ice skating show, and a fireworks show. There is also a lake full of about 60 Christmas trees that light up to different Christmas music throughout the night.

Maybe something that could make your visit more enjoyable would be splitting your visit into 2 separate days. Do all the day shows and exhibits on day 1, and leave right before dark. And then come back afternoon the next day to revisit any shows or exhibits you really enjoyed and to also see the night time Christmas shows. By having two separate days, you will be able to take it easy and enjoy the park more instead of rushing around trying to see everything. Since there is so much to do, especially during the holiday season.

Another thing you may be interested in is the Makahiki Christmas Luau. This was a great show when I saw it last year and the food was great too! Here is more info on that....
