We are planning a trip to San Antonio next month. I am trying to decide if I want to purchase the annual pass or not. Do you know if I purchase it in San Antonio is it good for admission to the Orlando park also? The SeaWorld website says the Funcard is not good at other locations. But, it is unclear about the annual pass. Thanks.

The nice thing about buying the San Antonio Platinum pass, is on the ez pay plan, you're forever locked in at that price. And out there, it's only like 200$ compared to 400$ purchased here.

I want to say the last time I looked it was 9$ a month per adult for a 2yr pass. And after that, you're locked in on a month to month basis for the pass. It's really a cool way to do it. There's many people locked in at low low prices because they've had their pass for ages.

You'll get free preferred parking, 10% on food/merchandise, ride again privledges, reserved seating at shows. All sorts of goodies.

The date of the pass will be when you buy it, not the fist day you use it. So if I order it today and pay for it all, it will expire 1 yr. from today. Disney does not start it until you use it! Terrible plan by Sea World!

Not really because it costs no where near $489 for a WDW AP. Just don't buy it till you are going to use it. Having to buy many tickets at the same time adds up so they offer and easy pay plan to make it easier for families to enjoy the park.

Yeah, but Sea World passes are extremely cheap by comparison. While it's not a good plan, it's not exactly terrible.

I called about the Platinum pass since it says you must activate at your home park. The price difference from San Antonio is 199 to 429 for Orlando. I was willing to drive to San Antonio on the way to Florida if needed but was told to just order the passes about 10 days before my trip and pay the $8.00 shipping fee instead. Then you can go to the booth at Orlando and they will change the activation date to the first date of use. I am going to do this and use ezpay to lock in that great rate!

Just remember, If you purchase a platinum pass now, it will only be good for the parks that are currently open. If another park is opened in the future, you'll have to upgrade your ticket to include the new park.
Some people discovered this when Aquatica was opened. But they find it cheaper to just use their pass to get discounted 1-day tickets than spend the money on upgrading the tickets.

I know this was the case for people with Orlando (and maybe even Tampa Bay too), but our passes are based in Williamsburg, and we've never had a problem using them at Aquatica. Are passes are at least 8 years old. Our rate is only ~ 160/pass for two years. Now that's a deal. We just keep letting them renew.

I don't know entirely, just what i've read on here.

We bought 3 park passes in 2007, then jan 2008 upgraded to include Aquatica. It's just not in the budget to go for the platinum. And we're on the ez pay plan, so we don't "renew", after your initial 2 years, it's on month to month basis. You continue to pay the same amount, but you can cancel at any time.

Should I buy a platinum pass from san antonio?? (My aunt lives in Texas, so I could have the pass sent to her place if I need a Texas address.)

Are there any difference in benefits from using platinum passport from one of the other parks??

I'm paying 14$ for the 4 parks here in Florida only. And I've thought about upgrading to Platinum but it's 4$ more a month if I got it here. If I order from Texas, I'd save 6$ a month. 14$ a month really is a small small price to pay for the amount of times that I go, I just think of how much I'd be paying for parking for every time I went. Going to the movies is 10$ for a couple hrs of enjoyment, and I get a full month of Sea World for 14$. So it's really not a bad price to pay.
Would they catch on to what I was doing? Could I get in trouble for it? It really is kinda unfair it's so much more expensive here than elsewhere for the exact same pass.

There are a few minor differences. The reserved Plat seating is really only for the Orlando passholders, but we've never been denied being able te sit in these seats, but we could be. Technically, the same is true for the ride again priviledge, but again no problem. (There is no ride again in Williamsburg). You are only guaranteed preferred parking at your home park and when at another park it is on an as available basis, but always been available when we have gone. Certain coupons and offers go out depending on your home park as well.

When we were at Sea World San Antonio this summer there was a special after hours event for plat passholders at the water park area. Technically, we weren't invited, but we asked and were allowed in.

The same food and merchandise discounts apply at all parks. If I were you I would go for the San Antonio plat pass.

I have my own reride priveledges at Sea World....
And we've been allowed to sit in the reserved seating when I was with a friend that has a platinum pass. I think about 4 other people were in the section, with 4 rows blocked off.

Re-ride is my biggest thing when it comes to Busch Gardens though. And we've talked about wanting to do a road trip to Williamsburg parks.
