Hey everyone! Ok so here's our scenario:

We're doing a Sea then Land vacation. We reserved Disney transportation from the Dream to WDW/PO-FQ. We are trying to be off ship as early as possible to get some theme park time in. My question is about our luggage: how would this be handled? Would we need to handle things ourselves or does Disney do this for us?

Thanks in advance!!

You set your bags outside your room the last night. Once you exit the ship, you claim your bags in the terminal, and take them with you through Customs/Immigration. Then hand them off to the bus driver that will be taking you to your resort. Once at the resort, you claim you bags from your driver and either bring them with you to check in at the resort, or hand them to the bell person.

So just like going from MCO to Port Canaveral on the disney transfer line. Sweet thank you for such a speedy reply!

We did port to PO-FQ as well! We were very pleasantly surprised that our room was ready when we got there around 10:30! We had handed our bags over to bell services when we got off the bus expecting to have to wait for our room so we found our room then called for bags right away. Hopefully you have the pleasant experience of immediate room too! It's such a gorgeous resort, we only spent one night there but it was lovely.

For what it's worth, the 2 times we went to the parks and used DCL transportation, we were checked in to the hotel, left the bags with bell services, on a bus to parks and at the gates by about 11:00.

Actually, no. Most cruisers using DCL Transfers from MCO -> Port Canaveral are able to check their bags straight through from the home airport and see the again onboard the ship -- no need to collect luggage at MCO pre-cruise.

Post-cruise is different. While DCL will remove them from the ship into the terminal, you do have to collect your bags in the terminal and bring them through Customs with you. There are porters available to help you so choose. Once outside, the bus driver will put your luggage directly under the bus you are riding, and it will come out at the resort when you arrive.

Enjoy your cruise!

It was expensive to use the Disney Bus to the port and back to the resort but totally worth it. As others said, the driver will get your luggage and help you unload when you reach hotel but if your room isn't ready; just drop with bell hop and go to the park.

We asked for a text when our room was ready with room # so then when we were done at the park; we just went straight to our rooms with the magic bands and called to have our bags delivered. Best service ever!
