Just wondering if the little sea raycer boats are still available for rent? If so, are they still available at the Poly? And does anyone know what the costs is?

Thanks,
Diane

Yes, these boats are at the Poly. I believe it was around $40 for 30 min, maybe less. They seat two people. My DH took our son, age 3. There was no minimum age but the driver has to be over 12, I believe (perhaps older...I can't quite recall).

Yes, you can still rent sea raycer boats at the Poly. We just did it last summer and it was so fun! I honestly can't remember the cost but I'm sure someone will come along soon and chime in.

Still there...saw them two weeks ago. Didn't look at pricing though. I think of all the resorts, the lagoon is the best place to be "sailing" on.

thanks. 40 is steep. last time we did this it was $27 per person! Will have to wait and see if we feel like it's worth it when we get there.

I just checked my receipt and it was $34.08 (tax? maybe my DH went over time?). So it must not have been $40/half hour. It wasn't per person, it was per boat and the boat seats 2. DH and DS loved it. And they agreed that the lagoon was the perfect spot.

Thank you! I meant per person as in we are two adults and would each take a boat. But thank you for checking your receipt. Hopefully we'll fit it in, if not, next time around.

If you have an AP you get a bit of a discount. We have rented at Poly and WL. Love going over the water bridge toward WL and going by the old River Country island and the other one that had animals pre AK. Also less boat traffic on Bay Lake. Have to be careful on 7 Seas lagoon with all the ferry traffic from resorts, MK & TTC.

I think it's $45.00 per hour? This is one of our Disney must-dos.....so I budget for it. We get four boats because everyone wants to drive!

This is also one of our must-dos! Two of our kids can drive the boats themselves, so it's a huge treat for them--and not a crazy amount of money by Disney standards.

Just a word of warning - wear lots of sunscreen - I always get sunburned!

Hope you don't mind me tacking on an extra questions! I have a 12 year old who is hoping to drive. I've seen some places (like the pic above) saying you must be 12 years old to drive. But I've seen others saying 16. Does anyone know for sure? I've seen a couple of places saying 12-year-olds can drive if an adult rides along. Anyone know the current policy? Just trying to figure out if I should budget for one boat or two. Thanks!

For the Sea Raycers Disney's policy is that drivers must be at least 12 years old and at least 5 feet tall. The maximum combined weight in a single Sea Raycer is 320 lbs. I'd suggest planning on renting two, you'll have fun and the boats will move a lot faster.

Thanks. We've rented them lots of times before, so I definitely know they go lots faster with just one. (Although he ways about nothing. Lol.) And, I knew he could drive at 12. But, I found this information on a few sites...

"Sea Raycer pilots must sign a release form or, for guests ages 12-17, have a parent or guardian do so. Guests who are 16 years or older with a driver’s license can pilot a Sea Raycer alone, while guests ages 12-15 need to be accompanied by another guest who holds a driver’s license. All drivers 18 years and older must provide a valid ID with birth date."

But then, I found other sites that said he could definitely drive his very own boat at 12. (He'll actually be 13 when we go.) So, I just wasn't sure. I didn't want to get him all excited about driving alone, only to show up and find out I have to go with him.

I appreciate the info!
