Sea Racer Offer Voucher

I just read on my reservations that we have 1 sea racer offer voucher, what exactly is this? My dd age 14 and dh would enjoy the sea racers and dh has been looking for something to do with dd. The teen years have put some strain on their relationship and he is desperately trying to get his little girl back.

It is an offer that means if you rent for an hour..you get an extra half hour free. At least that's what I remember from last year. If you're daughter is 14, you will need two sea racers. The really only hold one adult..and a small child. Otherwise they go pretty slow with two adult sized people in them. The only problem you will run into is that some areas you have to be 16 to rent them. This is on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. I think at the Beach Club you can be younger, and possibly at the Downtown, Marketplace area. We were at the WL last year and my husband and sons rented them. Honestly, my son was almost 15 at the time..and they still let him rent. Of course he is over 6' tall, and the person presenting the drivers license was my husband or my older son, I don't remember which. They didn't ask for ID for the younger one. He would have been very dissapointed if he wasn't able to rent, as he did when he was 12..but they changed the policy. I couldn't imagine him being over 6" in a sea racer with my husband or older brother..THAT wasn't going to happen.
Also, if you have AAA the do offer a discount. Only they don't have it listed..you will have to ask about it, and then they apply it. If you use the voucher for a free half hour after the one hour rental..they don't give you the AAA discount. It's one or the other.

I was updating the rates today over on the Wilderness Lodge FAQ Thread so the rules are for the Bay Lake areas. As the other poster noted the age restrictions for single drivers may be different at the other WDW Marinas, the new rates are from this week-end so they are current:

Sea Raycer:
$30.00 per 1/2 hour, $40.00 per 3/4 hour, $45.00 per hour
2 passenger maximum (320 lb. max)
*Driver must be 12 years of age and be 5 ft. tall in order to operate: also must be accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license.
**Single drivers of the boats must be over 16 years old and have a valid Drivers Licensed No age restrictions for passengers. Parent/legal guardian signature required for all minors.
