we are heading down for our first cruise on Monday on the Dream. Its a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas stopping at CC and Nassau. Just curious if anyone who has gone recently has had any issues with sea lice.

we were down 9/19 I got it on my legs or so i think. Wife and kid were fine. They lathered in safe sea lotion I did a blah job and got bit.

There were a bunch of people who came back with rashes from that cruise on here no one could really pin it down but i think it was sea lice.

It is a real mixed bag. My teen-aged sons complained of pain on their legs/torso and were convinced it was sea lice and sought out the sprays that the lifeguards at CC had. It isn't like it was bad enough to make them want to get out of the water though. I didn't use anything and swam right next to them and didn't feel a thing. Likewise on these boards I think the experiences are mixed.

It's all about larval jellyfish. If they are there and you swim through them, you have a problem. If you don't swim through them you don't. :)

I think there are two main times of year that they can be present. I'm sure some googling could find those times of year. But...it's nature and nature doesn't always look at the calendar.
