We are going on our 1st Disney Cruise this May (yeah!) with our DD who will be 11months at sailing (4 day Wonder cruise). I would like to know about sea creatures that may pose a problem for us - will be purchasing Safesea lotion today, but should baby not go in water?

We've been to the Caribbean during the summer and have never had problems, but know we have the baby and don't want to put our Princess in any danger.

Any help would be appreciated, Tiger aka Piglet's Momma

There are no guarantees one way or the other. Jellyfish storms depend essentially on ocean currents and not just seasons ... there are years when we see none, others when they're least expected.

It's usually pretty obvious to the locals ... and DCL should let you know at Castaway Cay what conditions are like there.

I'd recommend you bring ... and use SafeSea for the younger ones. The couple of dollars it costs is worth the peace of mind.

Check out www.drugstore.com who I believe stock it.

And make sure to check out other similar threads here on the topic.

Thanks - I already posted a question about jellyfish, as well as a link to drugstore.com (as I stated in my post, I am purchasing this product today from them) in another post, but no one replied to my inquiry about the month of May. I see that you live in Nassau so may I ask a few more questions?

1. It sounds like you are saying that jellyfish are only present at certain times - and this is called a jellyfish storm. That being said, are they tracked in advance or will be just be told as we enter Castaway Cay for the day?

2. Have you ever used Safe Sea before - does it really work?

3. If there is a jelly fish problem, is it still safe for DD to play on beach, but not go in water?

Thanks for the info. Have a wonderful day, Tiger
