SDV August 21-24 2008 WE'RE HOME!!!

Oh a flower pot!!! good idea!

I was thinking flower pot, floral foam, stake with a big bulldog clip, and the LGMH on top in the clip....just wondering if it will topple...

balloons would work too I guess....stick a LGMH on each side of a plain round mylar?

Hmmmmm, I'm thinking the balloons... the footprint on the table would be smaller, and no topple troubles....

What about tying balloons to someone's wire racks on the table?
Then no table space would be taken up ... just an idea!

When I decorate for a party, I wrap a bathroom tile like a gift and tie the balloons to it...

Now I'm thinking something Mickey/DIS related for the weight....:scratchin

ROFLMAO....you crack me up, Buffy:). It's 36 days for me since we head down on August 13....so 46 days until I get to meet everyone at the Cape May breakfast. I can't even describe how much I am looking forward to that.

41 days for me. :thumbsup2

Akk! I need to print out packing lists, shopping lists, itineraries, cut tags, pack, help.

You know, I put off doing some of that stuff because the trip was so far away. Then today I realized it's 5 weeks from tomorrow! Last night I ordered the silicone bracelets with our cell phone numbers on them for the kids, so if we get separated a CM can call us. Today I ordered our Dream Rewards card and transferred the $$ that is going to pay off our POFQ stay (the kids and I are doing 4 nights at POFQ before DH flies down and joins us at WL).

I think it's time to cut the autograph tags....that will be the project the kids and I work on tomorrow:).

can i just tell you all how jealous i am??!!!;)

Me too. We'll be in Tahoe that weekend at a family wedding. I will be in FL Sep 2-9th if anyone is sticking around that long. I'm going to the Epcot pin event.

I've done balloons with a "wrapped" drinking cup filled with sand as a weight. We could get the sand from the beach outside the Yacht Club but I like the idea of tying the balloons to the top of somebody's wire rack. I will have a shelving unit and am willing to "host" the balloons.
I checked my Dream Vacation account and didn't see seating assignments yet? Does anybody know if the DIS folks will be seated together? I sure hope so. I just came back from WDW last week and each time I saw the Yacht Club all I could do was wish August would hurry up and get here! :lmao:

I sent Nancy an email and asked that we all be seated together and near the Yahoo group. She said she would try her best. I said the Yahoo group wasn't important but that The DIS Scrappers would like to be together. The Yahoo group gets a prime seat though right in front so I would love to be near them.

If we have a few tables, I would be willing to host balloons too, as long as a local can get them.

I just got a Bind-It-All and was thinking about making mini-books for the DIS folks as SDV commemorative books. Then I was thinking of how cool it would be to have the pages decorated all the same. Sort of like a swap......but I don't know if people have the time or are interested. I will decorate the covers and then I could pre-punch the cardstock pages (6x6) size, send them to everybody after we get a list of who is interested, each person could do two one-sided layouts on SDV topics they have signe dup for like Roomies, My Cropping Space, Croppin the NIght Away, Massages, SDV Buddies, Breakfast, etc. They then would bring them to Orlando, give them to me on Friday, and then I could put the books together and return them at breakfast on Saturday morning.

Am I being too ambitous? If there is any interest, I would be happy to organize this. We would have to decide soon since it's coming up soon

That could be fun! If the cardstock is 6x6 how big should we make the pages? Should they be slightly narrower so we could stick the pages onto the cardstock without having holes in them?

I could figure out how much room the holes take up. Probably not more than an in on the left-hand side. I would rather pre-punch them and send you the blank pages of cardstock because then I everybody would know exactly how much space they had AND I wouldn't have to worry about ruining somebody's finished pages if something went wrong with the punching. Much btter to ruin blank cardstock than somebody else's work!
I will wait for some more replies and then post it as a swap. Maybe groups of 6-8 or so and then open another if one fills up? I am open to all ideas.

so will you attach the backs of the cardstock together when you get the books back? We could attach those on 3 sides and make them pockets. I could cut out a bunch of tags with my cricut to stick in between the pages.

Hmmmm......I hand thought about attaching the pages. Can we do two sides of a single piece of cardstock so there would be a single layout on each side? Or...if I could find inexpensive thinner chipboard, we could use that for the pages..kinda like a boardbook?
I like your idea of making the tags, too! It would be like a bound paper-bag album, sort of!
Anybody who want to participate get to give their ideas on what they want the pages to look like. BAMB's idea lets us do two-page layouts which is kind of nice since the books will only be using 6x6 paper.
LEt me know!!!:goodvibes
