SDMT Soft Opening Lookout Post

Was there today and saw multiple people riding. CMs were telling guests that 'pre-selected guests' were the only ones invited to ride at this time. I asked if Annual Passholders would be invited to a soft opening and were told by 2 different CMs to keep checking our emails about that. So :confused3

ferd, it's been reported that today was the last day of CM ride testing. So, you should keep checking your email! ;)

This is the first I've heard of them saying guests were riding at all. As far as I could tell from stalking Instagram pics today was another day of only CMs riding. Hmmmmmmmm

Also here right now and saw people riding at 2 different times. Was told the first time it was a private party. Another time they said cast members only.

When I saw them letting people on the first time, I thought we had just gotten incredibly lucky!

Oh they said no, it was the resulting arguments of 'why?' that held up the lines.

I've rarely seen issues with single riders lines here, but I think Universal started them in Orlando at IOA. People that visit theme parks here are accustomed to them. I don't know how common they are out in California. So it could just be that.

I've seen it many times on Test Track where people argue that their kids need to be in the same car with them, even though they went through the single rider line.

Subbing - will be there this weekend and I'm hoping for some good luck! I'll report back if I find said good luck :)

Heading to Magic Kingdom, this morning. Hoping for a little pixie dust, but since there's nothing in my email and nothing on the DVC Member site yet, I'm guessing we'll be watching cast members ride again. We're not checking out until Monday morning, so I'm still holding out hope for a ride this trip.

The past 3 days have been cast members of the magic kingdom doing testing. All other cast members have still heard nothing. I'm not sure what they are doing today though, but I haven't heard anything either way.

Anybody know what criteria is used to "pre-select" guests, and how those guests are informed that they have been selected?

As far as I can tell the preselected guest thing is just a line they are using. It's really preselected CMs with passes not in costume. I have yet to see a single picture posted from an actual guest. All the CMs posting them have been answering comments inquiring by saying so far it's been CMs only. This could change of course.

I've heard that there may not be any ap previews. I've also heard there may not be any large soft openings for the mine train. CM previews go for the next week at least. Lots of CMs are saying your just going to have to wait for the 28th.

We are going to be at Universal for the weekend-- but if I get a passholder preview invite, I will be tempted to head over to MK!

We were there yesterday and were told it was CM previews yesterday. Heard yesterday was the last day so hopefully this week will be soft openings!

I've heard Cm previews will continue for the rest of the week

As of yesterday it sounds like it was only CM's riding. My daughter is in the college program and was told middle of last week that only MK cast members who were with attractions would get a ticket to ride from their manager. Starting last Friday it was opened up to MK entertainment cast members also. My daughter was able to get a ticket on Saturday but did not ride until yesterday. Once they get in line, it sounds like they can ride as many times as they want. My daughter said she road it six times. She gave the ride a 7 out of 10. She shared that it is very short and is definitely not a "thrill ride". She said it was fun though and was extremely excited to get the chance to ride it before the general public. One more fantastic memory for her from her college program.

This is exactly what my daughter told me. They are being very closed lipped about the plan for the future. Just announcing one group of CMs at a time it seems.

What? Nobody asking today if this is open yet?! Has everybody lost interest after waiting so long, hehe.
