SDFP... Here now. Works! *Read Post #48 and Post #671*

Just FYI, here at AK and tried one more time to make and change SDFP's with no luck on my phone. Tried some back ways clicking around to see if I could get by it but not matter what I try I still get the error messages. So apparently SDFP's can only be changed at a kiosk and only reason to have them in your main MDE would be to be able to view them at least.

I appreciate your knowledge and response. Yep.........even though band one and two were never attached to a ticket, they each belong to someone who has made FP selections in the past.
And if those people are going on your next trip, the MBs can't be used.

If they aren't in your travel party, you can use their MBs.

Ok.....that is good news. I often travel solo, so using a band of theirs from a previous trip would work out nicely. Thanks for examining my situation further.

....process of selecting a different attraction/time, then when I got to the last screen and scrolled down to "Save Changes" it gave me an error message. Different messages for the app & browser (shown below) but I checked after and none of the times did the change go through. So it appears for now that they have corrected the MDE system to check for valid ticket media before allowing changes.

I the same error messages Friday and HS and AK when trying to change FPs connected to our valid entry tickets. The HS FPs were selected early Friday morning and the AK FPs were selected about noon when we entered. The HS FPs were for ToT, trying to change time to an open time within the APP. It took several try's and a couple of log-out-in cycles and finally a restart of the APP. The AK FPs were a change from Dino to Bugs.

I asked at Guest Relations in AK and I was told there have been issues with MDE for several hours on Friday. Just some addition data points.

@marciemi ~ Thanks! I'll add Post #671 to the thread title for easy reference! :)

We're doing a split stay, and I booked the second stay under a new MDE account I created in order to utilize SDFP. My question is, will there be any problem having Bell Services transfer my luggage to the 2nd resort, given the fact that I've booked each resort under a separate MDE account?

The transfer day will be a fully loaded park day for us (& the two resorts are far apart), so it would make no sense for us to move the luggage ourselves.

Thanks, Dave! :) So it can possibly be strictly a system glitch rather than an RFID-based FP glitch. Hopefully upcoming SDFP-users will report on their Modifying abilities when checking via the app or website.

I only use GLFPs but can check on SDFP Modifying when/if I'm in the park in a couple of weeks.

They will transfer your luggage based on names on the actual resort reservations and reservation confirmation numbers. Have your reservation numbers with you and complete online check-in for both stays.

I just wanted to thank everyone on this thread for your help! I was in Disney from 5/14 - 5/21 and the SDFP+ really helped my family cut out wait times and aimless walking from one attraction to another with hour gaps.

I have finally returned to reality from my vacation and wanted to also report that I had issues with modifying SDFP+ via the app. It worked perfectly for me on 5/14 and 5/15. Starting on 5/16, I received errors. I assumed something was going on with the FastPass+ system that day so I just ran back to the kiosk. Every other day I tried it, I received the same error. After realizing this, I just planned a little harder before making my final selections. SDFP+ were still great even though I could only modify them at a kiosk!

Very interesting to see when it actually changed over! (Assuming it's permanent). Going to Epcot today and will test one more time but it didn't work for me Sat or Sun so I'm thinking it may be more than just a system glitch.

Perhaps its to curb people from using multiple magic bands and accounts to get SDFP.

For those following along procedure-wise, ScrapYap posted the other day that GLFPs continue without problem. That's been confirmed by those who use FPs/MBs which belong to family members who haven't entered a park for that specific day and by those who continually research for this thread.

Follow the link in Post 48... this thread specializes in "initialisms." 8-) See FP Generators in the link.

Please have pity on those of us who don't know all the acronyms. I looked over that thread again, and couldn't find GLFP. Could you divulge just what it stands for? I can figure out the rest.

Sorry, Shanti. I forgot ScrapYap posted and it was decided to use GLFP rather than FP Generators.

GLFP are different from SDFP because they can be made in advance. SDFP are strictly "same day" and can only be made at kiosks. GLFP are possible because the phantom MDE profiles have linked tickets. Those tickets won't be used to enter the park until some future time for a future trip. The tickets exist on the profile in order to allow the guest to book (or "generate") an extra set of FP+ in advance for a current trip. It's expensive to buy two sets of tickets for the same group of people, so not everyone will want to invest in GLFP. But you may end up saving money because the ticket prices will inevitably go up before your 2017 or 2018 trip (at which point you might be ready to use those "generator" tickets for park admission).

When the SDFP+ loophole is eventually closed, GLFP will probably continue to work for a period (maybe a long period).

Thank you so much!

@Shanti - if it makes you feel better, I also didn't know what GLFP stood for and have also looked unsuccessfully for it. :)

ScrapYap (or Hiro) - is an AP from someone else considered a GLFP? If you ever want someone to check that, I use those regularly (3 20-something kids who don't live here in Orlando but come home often enough to justify buying them) - far more than I use SDFP's (other than now while testing). In any case - data point - it worked today. :thumbsup2
