Checking in to see if this loophole still exists...

If I have extra/unused park passes (UT purchases before Expiration went away) that have not been assigned to anyone in MDX, can I still create "dummy profiles" and attach the extra tickets to them for FP booking 30 days out - and using the extra tickets for FP doesn't use a day of the ticket? When I visited in Oct I had 3 MDX profiles for me/DW/DD with our main/used park passes that were "swiped" at the gate, and I also had 3 dummy profiles created on a 2nd MDX account with 3 extra/unused park passes for a 2nd set of FPs. The dummy profiles/extra set of passes were not "swiped" at the gate, but were able to be used at the attractions without counting as a day used off the pass.

Follow-on question if you can still have dummy profiles with unused passes attached - if I read the Booking Window FAQ correctly, I could/should create the dummy profiles on my main MDX account because the dummy profiles (that are in theory staying offsite) would receive 60 day FP window instead of 30 (my real/main profiles are attached to an onsite reservation)?

Thanks

Just want to confirm that previously reserved FPs can be used, even if the ticket holder hasn’t 'tapped' into the park?

Details: wife and kids are now leaving a day earlier than me. So one day of their tickets won’t be used. If I make FP reservations on their profiles, I’ll be able to use the FPs I’ve arranged for them, even if they don’t come into the park. I won't be able to get a 4th for them from the app, but I will be able to use the already reserved FP. Correct?

You will be able to use their already reserved FP's. You should also be able to make a 4th FPP for them from the app since they have valid ticket media. I do this with my kids' AP's when they aren't in the park. (Although you may find it hard to use 12 FPP's yourself in the first place, assuming you have 2 kids!). :)

When grouped with an onsite guest for booking purposes, the phantoms will share the 60-day window.

I forget - does the 60 day extend if the phantoms are on a 2nd MDX account if I've linked the main profile of the 2nd MDX account to the first MDX account?

Yes, that's correct. ScrapYap explains the "umbrella" feature in the first post of her thread that is linked in Post 48.

Just got back from an amazing trip. Wanted to thank Scrapyap, Hiro, Marciemi, and everyone else on the thread. After reading all these post I had an pretty good idea of how to do SDFP. When i got there it was just as explained in this thread. I was able to go to the Kiosk as the park opened and obtain my SDFP. The only problem I had was modifying them on the app itself, especially in Magic Kingdom. Although Magic Kingdom had a lot of issues with FP in general this past week. Anyway, thanks again!

I remember that from last year - it's what I tried doing then but didn't get something right. I think the part I was missing today was that I couldn't find/see the phantoms from MDX#2 on MDX#1 when I tried making FPs. I didn't realize I needed to "Add a Guest" to get the phantoms into my MDX#1 list. I've done that and I can see them all now.

Unfortunately though, either I'm doing something wrong, or MDX is a little whacky. When I try to add/include phantoms on MDX#1 to make FPs (any FPs), MDX#1 says the phantoms don't have tickets. The phantoms have tickets though - I can see them and make 30 day FPs while logged in under MDX#2. Both the web and app tell me the same thing (phantoms don't have tickets under MDX#1).

Do I have to re-link the passes to the phantoms while logged in under MDX#1?

No, everything should link as is. There may be a glitch.

From MDE #1, go to a phantom's profile and you should see the ticket within the Profile area. If you don't see it, it's a glitch in the system.

I figured out what it was. I noticed that on MDX#2 the profiles said 'Invitation sent' (or something like that). It finally hit me to check the email address I have associated with MDX#2 - and there were the invitations to link. I thought the linking between MDX#1 and MDX#2 was taken care of with the main MDX profiles - but each profile had to be linked across. Now I follow along with the rest of the umbrella instructions.

Thanks for your help.

Was chilling at Epcot with no FPP’s at all yesterday afternoon (just there for our free AP prints and lunch at Electric Umbrella. Yes, I’m the only one who likes that restaurant) and decided to grab some SDFP’s just to do a quick tutorial for folks who want to know what the process will look like. Sorry about the photo quality as all the kiosks were in the shade and I did the best I could with my phone. All of this assumes you’re using MB’s or cards without valid ticket media attached. Hope this helps someone. :)

1. Here’s what the kiosk will look like when you walk up. You hold your card (or MB) up to the circle with the Mickey head in it on the right:

2. After you tap the card/band, just their first name will appear:

3. Repeat this for as many people as you have and it will continue to add all names to your party.

4. Once you’ve added all names, select “Next”. It will then show you FPP choices. Note that at Epcot here (or at HS), you can only select one Tier 1 as shown. Also note that for some selections (ie Illuminations) there will only be one choice. For a popular ride someone may have just released that FPP and it’s the only one available. For less popular choices, note how it shows the option “Details & More Times” to see additional options:

5. Select the time you want from this (or an additional) screen. It will confirm your selection. Note that it then tells you how many remaining FPP’s you have remaining and allows you to exit or continue on:

6. Select “New FastPass+” and it will again show you your party. You can deselect someone here if you want to only make a FPP for some members of your party or add another card/MB to add more people to the party at this point. Assuming you want your party to remain the same, select “Next” (sorry it’s cut off on the bottom):

7. I repeated the process here to add and select times for Figment for the same party and here is my confirmation for both FPP’s. Note how it all doesn’t fit on the screen. You may have to use the arrow keys on the right to scroll up and down to see selections:

8. At this point I scrolled down and chose “I’m done for now” (you could of course add the third FPP):

9. As I walked away, I pulled up my MDE and these FPP’s were already visible there, where I could modify the times or selections (I then cancelled these since I didn’t plan to use them). Just don’t cancel one instead of modifying unless you are certain you won’t use it because otherwise you’ll need to go back to a kiosk to add one more in. You can modify within the same park but if you plan to go to a different park, you’ll need to go to the kiosk there as well. If you have already used SDFP’s in one park, you will NOT be able to get 3 more in the next park, but simply one at a time at the kiosk. If you do not have your SDFP’s linked to your MDE (you just borrowed a friend’s old MB’s but didn’t link to them, etc.), then just be sure to take a screenshot of the kiosk before leaving and realize you’ll need to go back to a kiosk to make changes.

Please let me know if anything isn’t clear or if anyone has any questions!

Thanks for clarifying. So day of and same day are two different things. That's why I was confused. I'll probably still be, but thanks for all your help.

Edited to add I fixed the links I think. Thanks Hiro for linking - I will just say that if I'm on mobile I can't find any way to see the post numbers, just in case anyone asks.

I just bought new unused MB's from the Disney store and set them up for the people in my party on a new MDE#2. I understand how to that second set of MB's to get SDFP at the kiosks.

Is there any way to get 60 day advance fast passes for these new MB's on MDE#2? I thought I read something that accepting the people I created on MDE#2 as friends and family would allow me to make 60 day advanced reservations for both my main MDE and for the new MB's on MDE #2? Is that true. If not is there any way to get advanced FP for the MB's on MDE#2?

If I am not mistaken, there must be valid ticket media attached to the people in MDE#2 to get advance fastpasses.

The new MB's in MDE #2 are linked to phantom names for the people in my party but are not linked to any tickets. Does that mean that only way I can only use them is for making SDFP at the kiosk on the same day I am in the park?

Yes, only SDFPs according to the info in this thread if you don't have tickets linked to the phantom accounts.

If you go often or have a upcoming trip, consider investing in a second set of tickets. This can not only be used for your future trip, but can generate 3 additional 60 day FP's. I have a trip coming in December and already purchased those tickets. Using them to have an extra set of FP's for quick trip in July. I then linked the all the profiles together and I'm able to make multiple sets of 60 day FP reservations...

My group is a family of 4 staying in a suite. We have a dining plan package with 10 day tickets.

I want 4 SDFP.
I have my husband's old band from the last trip, he is not going on this trip. So that is the first band.
I will buy 3 bands and understand that I do not activate them at time of purchase. (unless my sister can find her 4 bands for me to use)
With the new bands, is it easier for me to create a new MDE account, or should I add them to my existing MDE account with new names?
