Maybe removing the kiosks is the quick and dirty way to stop the booking of SDFPs. If you can't do it via your phone then it can't be done. I wouldn't think this would be the best way though for I imagine many people don't have a smart phone or if international it may not have service. Perhaps they would just keep CMs with pads though.
So are CM's policing the kiosks now? I would think unless you are wearing your other MB while swiping ones in your hand, how in the world would they even know what you are up to? Is there some type of alert that comes on the screen or something that says the band is not attached to tickets?

This may well be Momto. I know I'm very leery of going to a CM with an ipad because I'm afraid of them asking too many questions. If they all switch over to that it seems like it will still be doable (unless they somehow start flagging ones without tickets - now they don't as far as I can see at any kiosk) but you'll just have to pretend you just bought those tickets for someone that day (or didn't book FPP's in advance). Hopefully they won't do this as this would require more CM's (hence more cost to them) than having one CM monitoring 3-4 kiosks.

If at all possible I would do it using 2 phones. I'd first grab any 3 SDFP's from the kiosk but make sure they're at a time that won't conflict with what you want (so you don't waste time on the "Uh oh, there's a conflict" screen. So maybe grab evening ones if you're looking to change for afternoon or morning. Then have one person drop the unwanted ones one at a time while you look for the exact same thing on your phone. I've done this with ADR's a bunch of times and guess FPP's are now the new thing to try it on!
Thank you for the advice! I will try to get SDFP+ that do not conflict with the pre-made AP ones I desire. Hopefully it goes smoothly!!

Is there some type of alert that comes on the screen or something that says the band is not attached to tickets?
The only time I saw that specific alert was when I was researching unlinked MBs for ScrapYap's thread.

After I purchased a new MB in "link it later" mode, I removed it from the packaging on the way to a DHS kiosk. The kiosk screen gave the "no ticket attached" alert and I could not book SDFPs. Others had reported they didn't receive the alert when in other parks.

After linking it to my MDE, the alert didn't appear when I scanned the MB following day.

I had it happen the same way at MK one of the first times I tried this. I'd always just used old cards but had a friend visiting (about 10 months ago) who wanted to buy MB's anyway for her and her kids. We bought them unlinked and tried to get the extra FPP's but got that error message at a couple kiosks. Finally she just had a CM link them to her account (she was at SOG so didn't get MB's) and gave up on the SDFP's. This was before I knew it had to be linked somewhere but it was definitely at MK.

I guess what I am wondering is if already have an extra set linked to a MDE without tickets (room only ressie), and I'm not wearing the MB that I got into the park with, if a "helpful" CM wants to assist me in setting up my SDFP first thing in the morning, I would assume when the ticketless linked MB's are swiped the screen would not look any different than a ticketed MB without prior reserved FP's right?

The first time you swipe them it shouldn't be a problem as all that shows is the names - so you swipe the 4 MB's and it shows Billy, Tommy, Fred & Susie. All start out checked and it then lets you select a FPP for them. Once you choose one it says (at the kiosk) - "You can choose 2 more FPP's; do you want to continue?" and if so, you go on and choose the next two (one at a time). The problem might be more when you go back to try to get the 4th SDFP at a kiosk (you cannot book a 4th or subsequent from your phone since it will identify you don't have ticket media but you can at a kiosk). Then usually ALL of your party will show (assuming all linked to the same MDE) and CM's tend to really want to help/warn you that not everyone is eligible for another FPP (assuming you did your others from your phone or haven't used your third prebooked one yet). I just say something like "Yes, I know" and continue. Either way though, at least now, what the CM sees at the kiosk is exactly what you see, which is just the first name attached to the ticket.

Ok here's my situation- I read the main page and THINK I know what to do, but I wanted to double check :). We (myself, DD8 and my parents) are doing a 6 night/7 day split stay. I already have both resort reservations linked to my MDE. I am going to purchase 5 day UT tix for us and also link those to my MDE. My dad got 8 1 day tickets for free through work, and we have a ticket number to link those to MDE. I want to use 4 of the 1 day tickets for a 6th day in the park, but the other 4 I want to use to hop to another park on a day when we are using the UT tickets.

SO- I think I just need to create 4 phantoms (my dad's phantom using his real name because he has to pick up the tickets) in my MDE, link 4 of the free tickets to the phantoms, and I should be able to make FP+ selections for those at 30 days...right? The UT tickets and the other 4 tix can be linked to my real MDE names and those FP+ can be made at 60 days.

Does that sound right? And for a bonus question- on the day that we park hop with the free tickets, will our MB still work for MM even though we didn't use the MB to enter that park?

Gotcha. Thank you for explaining that. We have used the kiosks only in the past to book a 4th once we used our initial 3 were used. I was just trying to wrap my brain around how a CM would know rogue FP's were just that if you already had them linked. Setting up initial 3 first thing in the morning is the only strategy I am worrying about at this point lol forget adding a 4th later. If I can just get the initial 3 set up on our rogue bands without issues I will be content :ssst:

I'm going to leave this one for @hiroMYhero :) but will just say that you can definitely use the MB's for MM everywhere except at 7D but if you're wearing those it will probably pick them up anyway there even if not used for FPP (just like anyone who stands in the standby line hasn't swiped their MB anywhere).

4 phantoms work and choose a phantom name for your Dad, too. He just needs his ID to pick up the tickets and you'll link the tickets later to your phantoms. The CM won't check names in your MDE account.

If you group the phantoms with at least one real person when booking FPs, you can book FPs for the phantoms 60 days out. Then go in and Modify the real person out of the grouping and back in with the real people.

Those one day phantom tickets can be used in other ways;
1. Use them for an extra set of pre-booked FPs for each park day - book before you enter the park each day.

2. Pre-book for the hopping day and use the phantoms' tickets for SDFP for every other park day.

If I am missing something, @ScrapYap will add on! ;)

Awesome! Thank you so much. :disrocks:

And very strangely, I could read this without googling anything!;) Congrats to your son! You must be very proud!

Now, returning to the thread... :)

Hope NBFPs still work. A friend leaves Sunday and I am going to load her some FP on one of the sets of bands we used on our last trip.

All aspects of SDFP and GLFP (FP Generators) work so your friend will be fine. Please report back if anything different arises. :)

A few questions about GLFP/NBFP.

My understanding (for a NBFP) is I can use 1 ticket, assign it to 1 profile, select FP for next day. Then reassign to a 2nd person, and so on. Then the FP reservations remain active on all (that no longer have a ticket assigned to them) for 24-36 hours.

My questions;
- Did I get it right?
- I'm thinking the best ticket for this (assuming I want the ticket to remain valid for a while) would be a 2 day magic your way adult ticket. 2 days so it doesn't expire. No need for park hop since it won't buy me anything. True?
- Ok if I get a hard ticket (will I still be able to reassign the 'entitlement' on it?) or should it be the electronic one?
- If it's a 2 day ticket, I should be able to select two days.. but given they 'vanish' after the 24-36 hours.. only the 1st day is really useable. Does the timer get reset if I re-assign the ticket to them within the 24 hours?

Thanks

Luis, yes to your first two questions.
For the two questions above^:
~ as long as the ticket is linked to your MDE, you can reassign it. Once linked, it is a digital entitlement.
~ if you do NBFP immediately before you enter the first park, the FPs will remain for the majority of the 2nd park day. Or, after the park day ends for your first park day, go in and do the reassign sequence for the next park day.

The one main plus of using the 2-day hopper is that it automatically includes MK.

Thanks much.

Meaning, go in and pick FPs for the 2nd day at that point (after park day ends).. or - if I already had picked those passes for the 2nd day the day before just reassign to reset the clock?

Did you mean 2-day 'hopper' or just 2-day. I thought the MYW 2-days also include MK?

Thanks again for the help!

Actually, if you book for 2 days of FPs the reassigning after park closure will ensure that the Day #2's FPs remain. By booking 2 days at a time, you receive a little bit better selection for Day #2.

Sorry, my bad. I meant 2-day ticket and no hopper is needed. :)

OK - after two cups of coffee, I have finally finished reading this thread! I think I understand how to create FP+ generators but would like to get some confirmation before pulling the trigger!

We are a family of three with APs linked to my MDE. In order to generate a FP+ generator, I would need to purchase three single-day PH tickets and link the vouchers to three phantoms in my MDE (I'd prefer to manage only a single MDE account). Here is where I get a bit confused - do I need to purchase three new MBs and link them to the phantoms to access the extra FP+ in the park (we don't have any unlinked MBs or previous plastic tickets)? Or can I redeem my vouchers for a set of new plastic RFID tickets for my three phantoms at the ticket counter during our next trip (May 29th) and then link the plastic tickets to my three phantoms through my MDE account? I'd prefer to do the latter so I don't mistakenly use the wrong MB to enter the park. At a later date, would we still be able to reassign the ticket since it was never used at the entry turnstiles?

Thanks in advance to those who would be able to confirm whether this would work!
