Our HS day will be last full day of the trip.

We normally book our FP for early in the day so we can book more. My kids are little and early risers - we normally are at the parks early. We usually plan to keep them out late for one night show per trip. This time, it’ll be Fantasmic.

We have not gone on SDD yet. Should we try to book the SDD FP for after dark? I feel like a night ride on SDD + Fantasmic could be a really great last night of the trip. Sunset will be around 6:00 that time of year, I’m guessing Fantasmic will be at 8:00.

Long story short - do you think riding Slinky Dog at night is worth not being able to book any other FP all day?

Yes, I do. It's a lot better at night, IMO. I love it anytime but night is my fav. I could only get a 6:15 this Summer so I will ride then and probably get in line right before park closing to ride again at night.

I love TSL at night mainly because there is almost no shade over there all day and it gets HOT. I would definitely FP SDD at night without concern about not being able to book more FP.

There are only 6 rides at HS and you can easily go on Star Tours without FP, so that leaves 5. AS2 hasn't had more than a 30 minute wait on our last 3 trips, the line for TSMM is air-conditioned so even when it's longer it's nice to be out of the sun. That leaves RR and ToT and you can FP both of those as tier 2 if you plan to go on them.

I really like SDD anytime but night is even more fun. That being said, I wouldn't tie up my FP's for an entire day for that.

Riding it at night is pretty amazing but I wouldn’t tie up my fastpasses for it either. I’d book one early in the day and hop in line in the last hour. The wait isn’t very long at the end of the night. My kids enjoyed playing the game in the Disney Play app while waiting in line.

With little kids that get up early, I would book my SDD FP early, probably around 9:30 or 9:45. I would do the other TSL attractions and close out the land with SDD. You never know when little kids are going to crash and it would be a shame to miss SDD if the FP was after dark.

Our FP window opened up yesterday and I had issues booking SDD. We are doing DHS on our first day and I could not get a SDD FP until the 5th day of our vacation at 6:15pm. Instead of a second full day at EPCOT on day 5, we are doing a split park day...EPCOT/DHS. Not a major change but you may need to be flexible if you want a particular FP. It's weird because last Summer, TSL was less than a month old and we got our SDD fastpass on the day we wanted at the time we wanted.

SDD at night is much better!!! But if doesn't fit your family's needs it is still fun during the day.
