I should be doing a SDD but at the moment it's more of a shuffle lol

We're leaving for Birmingham on Saturday as we have to drop the dog off at my parents, then Sunday we're traveling to Ashford and staying in the Premier Inn ready for the Eurostar direct on Monday morning.

I just can't seem to get excited tho', we've both had this cold/flu thing since the middle of Dec, OH ended up on antibiotics just before NY for his chest and now finally seems to be getting better but I'm off to docs this afternoon to see if I can get something for my ears and throat which don't seem to be improving at the moment:confused3 . Plus my back has been worse due to the cold the last few weeks. It also seemed like a good idea way back in May when I booked but now I thinking 'who the hell decided 2 weeks after xmas was a good idea'!! mainly due to lack of funds now as had an unexpected large payout on house repairs mid Dec, but at least meals are sorted with HB+!

Anyway I have a couple of last minute questions I hope someone can help me with?

1. Do all the rooms at SL have the wall mounted hairdryers or is it only suites?

2. Is there anywhere 'secure' you can leave laptops at the SL during the day? Was planning on taking laptop to put photo's onto each night rather than buy a new memory card but now wondering whether it's a good idea having read the recent posts about pickpockets and room thefts?

3. Have got a letter from the docs stating my back condition and that I can't stand for long periods - only got it just incase there on any really long queues but am hoping I won't need to use it - where or who do I need to see to get a disabled pass etc to use for this?

4. Remind me where the entrance for DLH is - hoping to go in to see characters at 4pm.

5. We are in coach 3 on Eurostar and the seats are like plane seats, ie, face the back of the one in front, do these have slide out or pull down tables?

Sure I'll be back with more panicky questions before Friday!

Thanks Suze

I can answer some

1) I think we had one in our Montana room in 2002, but I don't use them so wasn't interested in them

2) Sorry I don't know!

3) You need to go to City Hall in the Disneyland Park, through the gates on the left hand side of Main Street just underneath the Train Station

4) Entrance to the DLH is on the elft hand side as you are looking at the Hotel from the Gardens, follow signs for Guest Relations and you'll see the entrance (it's also the way you have to walk for EMH entrance in the mronings)

5) The are (or were in 2004) pull down tables al la airplanes

Hope you are both feeling better soon and enjoy your trip.

There are definitely hairdriers in all Montana rooms in SL but dont know about the lodges.

I think you can leave valuables at recepetion in a safe but not sure about leaving a laptop

We had a regular room - had one of these.[Edit: Was a montana room - sorry]

Right by baggage check is a little room with security deposit or something on the door - saw lots of people going in and out of there, dropping stuff off etc. Worth asking them!

I'd take it to city hall when you get there.

4. Remind me where the entrance for DLH is - hoping to go in to see characters at 4pm.
As you appraoch the DLH, head as far right as you can. There's a rotating door on your left, under the bridge that links the centre of the hotel to teh building on the discoveryland side of the main parkWe had a regular room - had one of these.

I don't know I'm afraid - only ever been in 1st class at a big table. I assume you would get one though!

Thanks for the replies. Sorry should have said we are in Montana rooms.

Think I'll ring the SL (when I can find the phone number) and just double check if they do have facilities to leave the laptop, I also need to make sure they supply bedding for the baby cot.

I have finally got my 'disney buzz' back :cool1: still haven't started packing but have started to do a 'plan'!

Cheers Suze

Yay! Glad you have the 'buzz'!!

Have you done a pre trippie? Best way to get excited!

No I haven't done a pre-trippie yet. Never done one before but will try and do one later today or tomorrow - if I get chance as the list of stuff I've got to do between now and Friday night reads like an essay:rotfl:

Still not got Euros either - fingers crossed the rate goes up again by tomorrow!

I don't have euros's yet either!

I'm putting off the realit of getting a bad rate!

Ok have spoken to a very nice french man at SL who has confirmed all the rooms have hairdryers, the safe's are free to use at reception and they have 3 or 4 larger safes for laptop storage - again free:thumbsup2

The letter that came with our Eurostar tickets states that the rooms will be available from 4pm but he's just told me it will be 3pm (which is what I thought?).

Just got to get hold of congierce (sp) now to see how much it will be for champagne and chocs in our room as a suprise for DH as we will have been together 7 yrs on Monday:lovestruc

So I'm now off to get some Euros, fill the car up so we're ready to go to Birmingham tomorrow and then I need to sort out the suitcases and get everything packed:eek: - never been so disorganised lol

Hopefully will get chance to do pre-trippie later tonight.

Thanks everyone for all your advise over the last few months:thumbsup2
