Woohoo, SDD time :banana::cool1::banana::cool1::banana::cool1::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::banana::cool1::banana::cool1::banana::cool1:
I have planned nothing and i mean nothing for this trip as its DDs birthday tomorrow and my baby is going to turn 2, i have put so much effort into planning her party on saturday and tea party for monday that my disney planning has gone on hold. So we are now into sdd time and i have sooooo much to do. We pretty much wing it and eat where we want to when we are hungry but i did want to do a cake for dd as she is getting to an age where she understands plus i think she might get a little more character attention with a cake which i am sure she will love. Her fave is minnie but she also has a soft spot for goofy (goo goo) so i was thinking cafe mickey??? Just wondered what everyones views where for the best place for a 2 year old?

We are staying at the newport bay which is the only DLRP hotel we havent stayed in before so hoping that its ok as i have read some shocking reviews, but i am a firm believer in not knocking it til we have tried it, plus the fact the other walk way makes earl of sandwhich within sniffing distance is a big plus as we discovered it in wdw this year (after 5 visits we had never ate there before and now love love love it) so will probably eat there a few times :thumbsup2. we are doing 3 nights and i have already sent my email as we had a bad trip for dds 1st birthday so they said to email when we were coming back and they will add a little more magic so hoping they do something nice for her to make up for last year (stayed in dcr and dd got a very bad chest infection and then on the last day the door of a cupboard that should have been locked opened in and it was full of mould and was about 5 inchs from where dds head had been for the 4 nights :scared1:, we dont know if the mould made her ill but it certainly wouldnt have helped) so i am hoping for a little extra magic to make this trip special for her :goodvibes.
anyway back to :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I've only had a cake at Cafe Mickey so can't compare to anywhere else. It was very good though. Whichever characters are currently out will come to your table and dance to the happy birthday song. We were fortunate because Mickey was out when ours came.

I can't imagine it being any better in any of the other restaurants, especially not for a 2 year old.

I'd say Cafe Mickey would be the best place too.

:eek: at that mould, it's bad enough in a bathroom but not good near where anyone's sleeping, let alone a baby. :sad2: Hope you get sprinkled with pixiedust: and have a much better stay this time. I never worry about people's reviews either - I take them on board as it's good to be well-informed but then make my own mind up.

Nearly forgot - hope your DD has a great birthday!

Hi, we had a cake at Cafe Mickey for DDs 4th birthday (well the day after her birthday )and it was fab with all the characters gathering around the table - my 15th mth old started his love affair with Mickey on this ocassion:love:
On the same trip though we went to Auberge de Cendrillon on her actual birthday but hadn't ordered a cake as the puddings were so scrummy (hence the cake at Cafe Mickeys) and the princesses and CMs still sung Happy Birthday when they brought her pudding with sparklers in, that was amazing as she was (and still is) princess mad!!! I had originally booked a cake and then changed it to Cafe Mickey when I was advised about the puddings so I guess this is how they knew it was her birthday.

Hope your DD has a fab birthday and extra special trip
Kellie

Hi there,

Cafe Mickey is IMHO the best choice for a baby.

I wish DD a happy birthday & many happy returns of the day :wizard:

Can't offer any advice as we are just planning too - our dd is 3 in Feb and we are booking a cake at Cafe Mickey the day after her birthday. We are then eating at Auberge the day after but will tell them when we are booking that it is DD's birthday and hope they stick a sparkler in her pud or something!

Really glad you've asked this as we're going for DD's 2nd birthday too! Please let us know how it goes! we're not going until december, so dates not available to book food just yet....!
