SD Zoo on July 4?

We are in Anaheim right now and are considering avoiding DL on July 4th. Since we were planning on a San Diego day anyways we thought maybe the
4th? I know it will be busy but will it be crazy busy like Disney?? Are we best to plan it for the 3rd? We have 9 nts here in total, so plenty of time to see everything -- just want to do the least stressful for the 4th.

Whatever you decide to do, get up and going early, traffic will be a nightmare with everyone escaping to SD and the beaches.
