Scuttle loses his voice

No, not our Scuttle- the animated Scuttle in The Little Mermaid. Animated-movies.com annouced today that Buddy Hackett has died at age 78. He was also in The Music Man- one of my favorite films/Broadway musicals.

Yes Angie, that is such sad news. Buddy Hackett was one of the funniest men alive. I recall not only his voice-over as Scuttle, but also his role as Dean Jones' sidekick in The Love Bug.

I also recall his hilarious performance in It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World in which he and Mickey Rooney were flying the plane. I had almost forgotten his turn in the Music Man movie.....he sang Shipoopi in that film. I also remember as a kid seeing him in commercials for Lay's potato chips; I recall one where he introduced himself as Charlton Heston before saying you can't eat just one.

So long Buddy, you were one of the good ones....

It is sad that Mr Hackett passed away. I am sure Herbie is sad also.
