Scuba diving in St Thomas

My DH was just wondering if anyone has done scuba in St Thomas? He just took a refresher course and the instructor told them they might be better off booking thier own excusion rather than through Disney. He said you can usually get more dives and for longer amounts of time booking yourself. Thanks for any info.

Coki Beach Dive Club next to Coral World on St. Thomas offers shore-entry diving. We went there because of snuba with our son. If we were going to dive only, I'd probably do a boat dive.

We did no "official" Disney excursions and had a blast. It was even more enjoyable when we saw the excursion folks standing in line for things.
