What company have you used to scuba dive in Grand Cayman? I did a search for this, and found Fisheye. Has anyone ever used them? If not, who would you suggest? Capt. Marvin's doesn't scuba, they only snorkle.
We did our first real blue water dive with Don Foster's. GC was pretty intimidating for our fist dive outside of an inland lake. We expressed our concerns to the dive master and she was more than helpful. She even gave us the "guided tour" dive to help ease our nerves. WOW....when you come off the side of the wall and look out into the deep blue it is amazing! (This was Pre-Nemo, but I felt just like Nemo's school group when they look out over the drop off!)
There used to be lots of sites out there that rate Dive operations. Try Rodale's Scuba Magazine....they had great reviews last time I checked.
Our family is "regulars" on Grand Cayman and the best dive operation by far on the island is Red Baron Divers. They will totally set you up! Any ?s, just pm me!
Where you will get on the dive boat changes. Depending on where you are located on the island and where you will be diving, all dive operations have multiple sites to connect and get on the dive boat. For example if you are going to be diving the west wall you will be picked up on that side of the island. The first couple of times we dove with RedSail. They are a large operation and will have 20-30 on the boat. I will never dive with them again. Red Baron is two guys that have been an absolute first class operation that never have more then 6 divers at a time. They set up all your gear, very knowledgeble, great to talk to, more like having a divemaster as your best friend! website www.redbarondivers.com If you can book your dives with them your day will be a great success. If you can't book with them ask them who they would suggest, they are longtime island divers.
