SCRUBS - now the Official thread!

Initially, I refused to let DH lure me into watching since "I don't watch hospital shows because I don't want to be reminded of work.":scared:

But I got hooked anyway, and we're working our way through the DVDs for the first 4 seasons, having Scrubs marathons on weekends and holidays!

A doctor friend told me that Scrubs is much more realistic than ER. My wife is a nurse and likes to make comments on the equipment and drugs used on the show. She once made me rewind to see the pixis cabinet or machine or whatever it is.

Scrubs seems to have really hit the syndication market hard recently. I've had as many as 40 episodes on my dvr. Good stuff.:goodvibes

The thing that I thought was so cute is that in the "big production numbers," everyone seemed to be taking the choreography, etc. seriously. I could practically see Elliot counting in her head.

Has anyone found out if any of the voices were dubbed? They all sounded pretty darned good. A few years back, Seventh Heaven did a Valentines' episode where each of the main characters sang a solo. The guy who plays Kevin was absolutely tone deaf. If I had been him, I would have insisted on being dubbed.

How did we just find this show late last season?! It is the funniest show on television! We got Season 1 on DVD for Christmas and now I'm asking for 2-4 for my birthday.
DH was rolling at "Guy Love" and my kids were enjoying the poo song.
Scrubs rules!!!:cool1:

Although I love my JD and Turkleton, Dr. Cox may be the best character on TV right now.

I can't remember where I saw it, maybe one of the blogs? Not sure. . but they were showing clips of people in the studio, and interviews talking about how they all recorded their parts. . obviously they're lip-syncing on the show, but the original recordings are all the cast. (At least I haven't heard anyone having someone else sing for them)

I love this show. I'm so glad that NBC finally has a good Thursday night line-up again. The Office & Scrubs are my favorite shows on tv this year. My Name Is Earl is also funny but I haven't seen much of that this season since it falls during my kids bedtime rituals.

I thought I read that this might be the final season for Scrubs, I sure hope not.

From Ask Ausiello on tvguide.com:

Question: Any news on whether this is the final season of Scrubs?— Peter
Ausiello: Actually, great news. My pal Bill Lawrence told Broadcasting & Cable (traitor!) that Scrubs will be back for a seventh and final season on either NBC or ABC. "[Touchstone] told us not to write a finale for this year," he said. "We've essentially been told that NBC is really happy with how we are doing. I would say it's better than a coin flip we are back on NBC." Lawrence also seems to be abandoning the idea of promoting Donald Faison to lead should Zach Braff decide to pack it in this May, telling B&C that the show would not go on without its star. But he "feels pretty good" that Braff will return for the final season. And if Braff returns, can Dr. Kim's sexy obstetrician be far behind?

And some more good news hinting that Zach is abandoning the idea of leaving the show. . . from his latest blog entry:

Scrubs Coming Back?
Not sure yet. I would do another year if all the right pieces fall into place. For example: Bill Lawrence staying on as the creator/head writer, some scheduling tweaks, etc.. We will know more in the next month. But thank you all for all the nice things you say about the show. And yes, we do have as much fun making the show as it looks.

Big change from a year ago when it was always, "it feels like the last season."

This should be the official scrubs thread. I command you to edit your title accordingly.:goodvibes

this is the funniest show on tv.

I second this, we need an official Scrubs thread. I LOVED last nights episode. And Guy Love was my favorite song. It was a perfect description of their relationship: sweet, pure, closer than husband and wife...ok, ok it does sound a teensy bit gay, but anyone who has ever seen Scrubs knows that JD and his Brown Bear have a stricly platonic (albeit loving) relationship! Now bring on the Appletini's and rename this thread!!!

I LOVED last night's episode. Especially Dr. Cox's song/rant.

Dr Cox is brilliant. I flipped out when he finally called JD "Heather" in one episode(my name). Of course, he was bound to get around to it sooner or later. I think my favorite one though was when he called JD Fantasia. I laughed for ever over that one!

I love this show...every episode, and have had the guy love video on my iPod since they "gave" it away. I also bought the season so I have all of last nights on there as well. I fig it will be the perfect thing to watch while we are flying to dw tomorrow!!!

Scrubs is a brilliant show. What you saw last night is Emmy material. :happytv:

So does anyone have an idea when Season 5 is coming out on DVD. I saw a preview for it on a movie we rented. In the promo it is mentioned that there was an animated episode...interesting.

There isn't an official release date yet, I keep checking, LOL (even though I have them all on DVD already from taping every week)

I know people are speculating sometime in the spring. I guess just start watching for the overseas release dates. . . US release usually comes a month or two after they release it in Europe and Australia.
