HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Walt Disney Pictures has picked up the comedy spec "Wait Listing Wally" from writers Marty Scott and Toni Kotite in a low six-figure deal.
The story follows an average Midwestern dad who becomes unhinged and systematically takes down the families ahead of his 5-year-old son on the waiting list for a swank private school.
Sony-based Jenno Topping and Betty Thomas, who just produced "I Spy," will produce via their Tall Trees Prods.
The writers also penned "King for a Day," a spec being produced by Tall Trees and Jonathan Prince for Fox-based New Regency.
