Those of you who have recently returned, can anyone confirm whether there are still scrims up in Main Street?

It would be so nice to get some Main Street pictures with the actual buildings, not partly tarps - for the first time since 2009 ..... :cool1:

Had to Google what scrims are :rotfl2:
We don't remember seeing any.

:lmao: You made me laugh!!

Okay, tarps then

But Disney calls them scrims because they are 'fake replicas' of the actual buildings they are covering

None of us have heard of scrims or tarps :rotfl2:

I tell a lie I just Googled scrim tape, just came into my head and there it is, the first house we bought 25 years ago needed a lot of work doing on it, a friend helped us out and I remember him using scrim tape so its 25 years since I heard the word scrim.

So Disney call them scrims, I would just call them building covers.:rotfl:

I knew what you were talking about :goodvibes when we were there in June the bakery was still covered but I have since seen that has been taken down so you MAY be good :thumbsup2

Ah thanks :thumbsup2 They have exactly 11 days to remove all traces of the 'building covers' :rotfl2:

We got back from WDW on Monday, no scrims on Main Street USA but there was one covering Yankee Trader shop next to Haunted Mansion. There was a crane up behind the castle in the new Fantasyland area, but from Mainstreet USA it wasn't visible in photos.

We're going in 12 days and the crane is always up at this time of the year. They take it down (or rather they lower it so it's not visible from the front of the castle) around sunset so that's just something we've come to accept. But the scrims - well we tolerated them the first year, were a bit disappointed that there were still more up last year, so I'm delighted at the prospect of taking pics of some actual buildings this time! :)

The one near Haunted Mansion wasn't up at the start of our holiday but was at the end. The shop had both doors open early in our trip but the one nearest HM covered later on, no idea how long it will be like that for.

Odd time to choose to do it if it's for a lengthy period: Immediately before the Halloween season kicks off

Thanks very much, just make me look stupid. Everyone knows what they are called but me obviously :lmao:

Haa Haa when I read the heading I was just as ignorant Wayne but now the covers have been taken off and all is explained :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I don't know what they were either, thought it was something from main street bakery:lmao::rotfl2::confused3

Here are a couple of pics of Scrims next to Haunted Mansion Taken from the top deck of Liberty Belle and one taken from Columbia HH of the work being done. The windows were covered to prevent you looking out, but I was inquisitive! :rolleyes1

Main Street is all clear at the moment :thumbsup2

Hmm what's the building work? Will have to check it out on our upcoming trip. As for the scrims on main street I am so glad they are down that one on the bakery was ugly.

Ugly or not those photos really, really, really make me want to go back NOW !!!
