Ok, all you tent campers--and anyone else who can give some pros & cons... which do you prefer? Having a screen house or an Quik Shade (First Up..whatever they're called)? I just put up the screen house from WalMart that I got for my b-day (15 X 13). As I stare at it and think about how we'll use it, I wondered if we'd be better off with the Quik Shade. The screen house isn't as heavy but if it rains...there's no protection. I could get the "walls" for a Quik Shade as well as the screens. (Are screens even necessary?) Chime in...I'll be waiting. :surfweb:

I think the screens are neccessary to keep out bugs....You can also use an extra tarp or two and tie them to the upper frame on the inside of the screen house in case of rain.

We like having a screen tent. It keeps the bugs out, and just keeps things a little "neater" than just an awning. We put our camp stove, picnic table, and all our other kitchen stuff in there.

I have the QuikShade and like it because it would be easy to drop down in case of a storm. It's a toss up on the screen because of flies and other bugs. I use my shade and have several of the screen nets that cover food when it's on the table. Only way to keep em off.

To me the quick shades are just easier to set up and take down. Most of the brands have available screen walls and solid walls, so they are very versatile.

based on what is left of my ankles from talking to JaxPooh outside in loop 1100 this evening, I would suggest some type of screen...i was looking into a screen that connects to our awning, but 650 dollars is not lying around the house right now...;)

We have both now and will use the quick shade more I think. The screen rooms are a bit of a pain to have to open and close every time you come and go. And if you are carrying something like a plate and glass it is just about impossible. The only exception would be in May when the biting flies are so bad. Those things hurt and just will not shoo away. It is always a battle to the death to get relief without a screen room.

We have a bass pro screen gazeebo and just love it.. it sets up quick and is pretty much idiot proof!

We have a eazy up.....we havent found it to be Eazy up at all.....I call it the pain up....you can fill in the blanks :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Going to wal mart for a new one this week......My shed is getting full of things for camping that just has not met my expectations.or needs....Good thing my wife does not go in there...Then she would know where all my money goes:laughing:
