24 October 2001: Journey into Your Imagination Update
An update to our July news item about the rehab. The October 2001 date was pretty accurate, I now have word that the attraction will close on October 8 2001, and the current reopening date is set for June 14 2002. As always completion dates are always subject to change, but this is how things stand right now.
More good news is that originally you may remember we had heard of the $5million figure to complete the rehab. Well it seems that has now been increased further.
There is no word as to what the changes will be, as some elements are still under development, while others have been green lighted. There are some suggestions that there may be changes to the ride system, as well as a much larger role for our friend Figment.
It seems WDI have a clear plan of what they are trying to do this time, so I think we can look forward to a good attraction coming out of this project!
Main Street Changes - (9/24/2001) One year later, the new Emporium Expansion is nearly complete and should open in the next few weeks.
2003 - Philharmagic - Rumor - (9/19/2001) Ive heard a few scarce rumors about this project two or three times over the summer, but I never could get any proof on it from any more serious sources. It seems an article in the Orlando Weekly caught onto the same rumors. The gossip here goes back to the Spring when I reported that the Lion King show may have seen its last days only to have it reopen after a few weeks of rehab followed by the closure of the Hall of Presidents for its long rehab. The rumor then and now is that the theater will go back to its roots as a 3D Theater venue (remember Magic Journeys?) with a new computer animated 3D film project in the vein of Fantasia or the Silly Symphony films. Word is that this will also feature Mickey Mouse, the one character who really is never seen in Disney attractions, as part of a possible 75th Birthday Celebration in 2003.

Park News - (9/24/2001) In addition to the nighttime lagoon show weve been informed that the park will also bring out a special Christmas Electrical Parade show.
2003 - Project: Bug Town - Rumor - (9/24/2001) It looks like work on Bug Town has begun with the tractor area of Bountiful Valley Farm being fenced off.
2004 - Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror - Rumor - (9/24/2001) Sources tell us that a large portion of the parking lot has been fenced off and groundbreaking has begun as they dig up the asphalt. There is also another site where they are building a parade building as well.
