For those with kids, just curious at what age your kids started going on Screamin and if they liked it or not?

My son is 9, and up until now he hasn't wanted to go on it. But he's really excited this year for it. He enjoys rides like Space Mountain and Splash, so I can see him liking this one. This is more of a problem for "me" as Mom, as I'm not big on thrill rides, and the idea of going upside down makes me go :scared1:! :lmao: I also have a hard time watching DH go on it, where in the beginning it takes off so fast! Yes, those are my chicken fears talkin! :rotfl:

So I guess I just want reassurance that it isn't that bad, and that at 9 he will be fine and love it! :)

My ds went on it on his 5th birthday and loved it. It's his favorite ride. But he refuses to ToT (he's ridden it a couple times, the story freaks him out) and Bug's Life 3-D. My dd went on Screamin when she was 7 and she loves it, but now at age 9 prefers the Maliboomer. She won't do Bug's Life, either. Strange how kids have different fears . . . :confused3

My daughter really wanted to go on Screamin' when she was about 10. But when we got to the front of the line, she had second thoughts. I talked her into it, knowing she'd love it once she'd done it (you just have to know your child's personality, I guess) and then she tearfully got on with the promise that I'd hold her hand throughout it. (Not an easy task the way you're strapped in, but do-able!) She cried the whole time, and then at the end said, "Can we do it again?":lmao: The second time, she held my hand for half of it, and the THIRD through FIFTH times, she didn't want my hand anywhere near her!

The upside down part looks freaky, but you really hardly even KNOW you're upside down until it's over. If your son did all right on Space Mountain, he'll do fine. It's a really fun coaster.

DS (5) rode if for the first time three weeks ago and loved it. He is not big on TOT and wigged out in Bug's Life. He likes speed though so we knew he would like Screamin.

Thanks for all your stories, helps to calm this mommy's nerves! LOL He won't do ToT yet, but he does like A bug's life. I agree, it's funny how they have such different fears of certain rides! He enjoys the speed rides too, that's why I think he will like Screamin just fine.

My dd went on it during our last trip 2 or 3 times. She was 7.5 yrs old. She loved it! She went on every ride except ToT, which she probably would have done had mom or dad really wanted to do it too. But, I'm kind-of chicken to ride that one. LOL

my son is VERY short for his age, so this last trip, at 9, he finally got to try it. he loved it and went on it with all this cousins the entire trip.

now, ToT is another story. We took him on that and he won't even go near it again.

My daughter is extra tall, so went on Screamin' at about 4. loves it!! A few weeks ago at age 6 she whacked her face onthe restraints pretty hard..slight swelling, some crying...and still wanted to go on it again!!! She said that hurting herself was "a freak accident, and not goint o happen again"!! Quite the philosopher. She also LOVES ToT...so we have been going on that one a lot since she was 4!
But, she refuses to try to drive Autotopia no matter how often I explain that she can't drive off the track. Silly.
Oh,and the upside down thing..don't even notice it. I havew problems with motion sickness, so will only ride it twice in a row without a rest..but you shuld try it!!
Oh,enjoy!

What a difference two years make, in 2004 my son was 7 and daughter was 12. My son rode splash once and refused Thunder, Matterhorn, Indy Screaming etc. My Daughter wasn't brave enough to try them till the very last day then we couldn't get her off. Last year my son was 9 and my daughter was 14 and they did practically everything multiple times, much more fun to go on as a family. My daughter refused Mailboomer and ToT because she doesn't have a good stomach, my son did both (just once!), w:scared1: we rode Screaming at least 5 times. We counted a grand total of 50 rides on Matahorn, Splash, Space and Thunder, what a difference two years makes....

My kids have been going on TOT since they were both 4 and LOVE it. My 6 year old is not quite tall enough but my 7 year old went on it last summer when SHE was 6 and LOVES it. Went on it many many times. She couldn't WAIT to be tall enough and was just tall enough last summer.

My little one is just 1 inch too short so hopefully by our Oct trip she can go.

They LOVE it and so do we! I think your son will love it!

We just got back on Sunday and it was my 6 yr olds favourite ride. She kept asking to go on it again and again.
