...intriguing title?

I've been going through major Disney planning withdrawl, not even "hey I wish I was at the parks" but missing being able to PLAN for it. Which is ridiculous and I blame the Disboards for it.

I was leaving a little vicariously through a friend of mine who's leaving in like 2 weeks, but I've pretty much sent him every single tip I can think of. Pretty sure he thinks I'm insane at this point but I'm expecting a turnaround in his thinking once he gets down there and realizes WHY I pestered him about certain things and repeated myself over and over "don't buy bottled water, just go to a CS location and ask for ice water. I told you already what CS meant!"

So in an effort to scratch the Disney itch (which really sounds like Mickey has an STD...) I decided to hop on the Disney site and "plan" a vacation. Here's what I came up with.

Me and Anonymous (I would need someone to go with so I planned for 2 people) would be:

Departing Buffalo on Jetblue at 7am September 26 and arriving in Orlando at 9:36 am. We'd then be taking Magic Express to OKW to stay in a one bedroom villa. We'd have 6 day park hoppers and the dining plan. Booking flight, room, park tickets and dining on Disney would come to $6101.98.

Our schedule would look like this: (and for the record, I did check the Disney site and these were available ADRs)

Sept 26- arrive, eat at Goods for lunch, unpack, then head to Cape May Cafe for a 7:50pm ADR and we'd pay OOP.
Sept 27- Magic Kingdom, I'd be having lunch at Casey's or Cosmic Rays, then we'd bounce over to the Boardwalk for Flying Fish at 7:05
Sept 28- Animal Kingdom, lunch at Restaurantosaurus, then head to the Grand Floridian Cafe at 6:15.
Sept 29- Epcot day (my favorite), lunch at Sunshine Seasons, then go to Whispering Canyon for a 7:25 ADR
Sept 30- Hollywood Studios, not sure of lunch, then dinner at Artist Point at 7:40.
Oct 1- Downtown Disney after a sleep in and maybe swimming, a little random snacking and dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express.
Oct 2- Second Magic Kingdom day including MNSSHP, lunch at Caseys or Cosmic Rays (whichever I didn't have the first day), then bounce over to Kona Cafe at 6:15 for dinner then back to the party.
Oct 3- Second Epcot day, lunch again at Sunshine Seasons, then dinner at Coral Reef at 8:10.

On October 4th, there'd be a second small trip into Downtown Disney and probably another meal at WPE before heading back to Buffalo on Jetblue at 5:05pm arriving home at 7:34pm.

Looking through this I already see where I'd start juggling stuff around, mainly because I forgot to even look for a 50's Prime Time reservation. I've obviously been out of planning too long and I'm getting rusty!!!

I figured if anyone would understand me taking the time to do this, it'd be the fine Disboard folk.

I'm a member of a sorority with 8 recent college program CMs so luckily I'm always helping a sister plan a trip to visit our sisters in Orlando during the semester :)

I desperately need someone to say "Hey Alyssa, we want to go, plan our trip from Aladdin to Zazu".

I recently sent Free Dining info to a friend, because I knew they were considering going during the time that Free Dining is offered. If she had committed, I would be making tons of suggestions about EVERYTHING! I don't think they're going to book anytime soon, which means if they do go, they won't be able to take advantage of Free Dining. I told her that they just have to put down the deposit, then they can cancel 45 days in advance if they must. She didn't go for it.

I'm constantly planning our next trip (ok...next 2 or 3 trips:rolleyes1).

Right now, I'm hoping for a trip in December 2012, and I have almost everything planned out, even though we're not to the point where we'll actually be booking anything, and I haven't convinced DH that it will be happening.
I'll keep honing it down until a few days before our 180 day mark, then I'll convince DH to let me book, so I can get all our ADRs, even if we're not 100% about going yet.

At the moment, I'm contemplating the common dilemma of to buy the Dining Plan or to not buy the Dining Plan? It's a tough call for us, and it will shape our ADRs.

As of now, my plan is 9 nights (Dec 12-21, 2012) at the Wilderness Lodge.

Day 1: Arrive. Hopefully in the morning. We've always ended up with afternoon arrival times, and I want to arrive in the morning for once. Evening ADR at Artist Point
Day 2: Room Service for Breakfast. Then get to Epcot for Rope Drop. Lunch Yorkshire County Fish Shop for DH. I don't know where I will eat this day, maybe nowhere if breakfast is big enough. Dinner at either Chefs de France or Bistro de Paris. This will depend on whether or not we buy the Dining Plan, and whether or not the rumor of no young kids ends up being true.
Day 3: Animal Kingdom with a late breakfast at Boma. Lunch/Dinner at Flame Tree BBQ
Day 4: Breakfast at Hollywood & Vine. Hopefully, a super early ADR, so we can at least send someone to FP Toy Story Mania. Snacks for lunch or back at our resort. Dinner at Narcoosees.
Day 5: Lunch at the Village Haus, or possibly a new Fantasyland restaurant and dinner at the Crystal Palace.
Day 6: Breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Lunch at the Lotus Blossom. Dinner at the Roaring Fork or possibly snacks around the campfire at Fort Wilderness.
Day 7: Breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Then go Hollywood Studios. Lunch at Starring Rolls. Dinner at Sci Fi Dine In
Day 8: Lunch at the CS outside Yak & Yeti at Animal Kingdom. Dinner at Hoopdeedoo.
Day 9: Last day at the Magic Kingdom. Lunch at Cosmic Rays. Dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe.
Day 10: Departure day. Breakfast at Kona Cafe.

Why are you lunching at Sunshine Seasons when the F&W festival is running?

I do this ALL THE TIME!! There is one danger to it though....I have been looking and scouting for deals around Oct/Nov so that next year I will be ready to pounce for our 25th anniversary trip, and DH sees one of the sheets with figures on it, and is like "Wait, that's what it would cost to go in Oct?" I say yes, and he says "BOOK IT", so we're going Halloween weekend :cool1::cool1:
I say, "Well, we'll go now and not next year" and he says"No, we'll see Halloween this year and go a little later next year to see the Christmas lights". Good Lord, I married a wonderful, yet crazy man!:love:

I wish I could plan trips for friends :D The only thing I've done recently is recommend a hotel....can you believe they booked a month before they went and didn't plan!!?? (They did have a good time however)

The second anyone says "I might be going..." I start in on them. The conversation is basically me saying "OH ok when are you going? Are you staying on property? Have you considered the dining plan? You really should look up menus first and see what you'd be spending on food if you were to pay OOP...that means out of pocket...versus what the dining plan could save you. Are you going to hop?...PARK HOP! No, you need special tickets for that! Are you frickin kidding, Harry Potter is NOT at Disney. Disney is 4 parks, plus DTD plus the water parks plus the resorts... Um yes you need to take more than flip flops. You'll be walking several miles a day. Yes Disney is WORK, and no there's not a beach. You know what just give me your email...it'll be easier".

And yes I know the F&W festival would be happening but I'm a notoriously picky eater. I'd be nibbling on mostly desserts from F&W if I were actually going.

I'm exactly like you! As soon as someone mentions they're considering a trip I go into planning mode. Of course that's in addition to the mom & dad only trip I'be been trying to convince my dh into taking for the past 2 years. It's all planned so I'm ready to book once I get the ok. ;)

I must have a reputation.....

Stopped in at work yesterday and the secretary says, "BTW, we just decided that in 2013 we are going to Disney, so I'm going to need your help."
:cheer2::cheer2:YES!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:
I'm like, are you staying off site or on property? "I have no idea" when are you going? "summer?" "There's more than one place to go, right?" She's SUCH a newbie!!! Can't wait to help her! :wizard:

OMG!!! I totally understand and I AM that person!!! Everyone at work is afraid to talk to me until they actually are thinking of going...then I'm their best friend....no it's not REALLY that bad...:lmao:
I was helping a friend at work, but she is so smart she picked up on everything right away and now I can't help her anymore!! But I think I may have at least one more planning a trip soon, so I can help them! Everyone thinks I should become a disney travel specialist... too bad I can't find the time...wait, I could be doing it right now instead of lurking here.....:surfweb: :rotfl:

Yup, people tell me I should be a Disney travel agent but there's so few people that use TAs anymore. I know they're still out there and still exist but its not like it used to be. There's a lady I work with who says she's going next spring with like 9 family members and I'm actually avoiding her vacation. She refuses to look anything up, doesn't make any sort of reservations except hotel and flight, doesn't know which rides are in which parks and gets mad when there's no ferris wheel at Epcot.
