Scratched toilet bowl?

from trying to unclog with a metal snake! Any touchup paint I can try? Bowl is sand colored and can't find anything online!

Hi -

Drain the bowl and use a "Magic Eraser".

The bowl probably is not "scratched" just has some superficial marks. This happened to us a few years ago and I lived with it until one day I tried the above. PRESTO! makes me wish I would have tried it earlier... used to drive me crazy!

It will also take the "scuff" marks off of dinnerware that come from eating utensils.

I doubt it is really scratched. Feldspar has a Mohs hardness of 6-6.5 steel is 5.5-6.0 i.e. a little lower and since i am fairly sure the snake is not hardened steel it should be lower... I agree, drain it down completely and i bet it will polish out. Look on the web for ways to polish porcelain or glazed ceramic (for example tooth paste on a sponge). The ceramic is pretty hard stuff. Put some bleach in there and let it soak. The bleach may oxidize the steel streak and make it easier to get off or at the very least it will disinfect the bowl before you put your hand in there... good luck.

Thanks for the tip I just tried it on my Fiestaware that had lots of fork marks and the plates look like new again.

thanks for the tips! Saved me buying a new toilet bowl. I used The Works from the Dollar Tree and it worked without even scrubbing. I remembered reading about it on this boards before and gave it a try for a buck.
