Scrapping for a Wish

I couldn't sleep at 5AM, so I started thinking about scrapbooking and then Levi and eventually they merged in a way I had never thought about. I was thinking about how I needed to "get on it" with getting a block in honor of Levi at Give Kids the World and about my upcoming scrap benefit, Crop for the cure. And I though, what if a could hold a Make-A-Wish scrapbooking fundraiser in honor of Levi. Seeing as most wishes involve Disney and Levi was SO happy there.

It has been over 2 years since I lost him. And through the pain I have looked for a way to make something good out of it. Please pray for me, I think I found my path.

That is a lovely idea. We have another mom who's child was a part of make a wish and last year we did an autograph page swap in which we did books for her to take to her local make-a-wish foundation to give back some. This year when we do an ABC swap we are planning on doing 2 extra sets of each page to give into the same group again.

Alicia, I think this sounds like a wonderful idea! I dont' scrap but I know so many people do, so I bet it will be a hit!

Levi has helped so many Wish kids already! The Dis Big Give was started because of Levi, and look at how far it has spread! So many children and their families have received extra Pixie Dust because of him.

I am the mommy who Rebecca was speaking of and I found it a nice way to honor ds and give back. All the ladies who helped me do the book donations were sooo wonderfully. Actually we took the albums us last year on my ds13 birthday. It was the last outing we had with him (eventhough at the time we did not know it). We just donated to MAW for his Christmas and Birthday (is coming up 23rd of this month). I think your ideas is a great one. I would love to particpate, but we probably are no where near each other.

Also I did read your story and I was just heartwrenched. I know there are no words to take any pain way, but I am sooooo sorry for your loss. You are a strong woman.

Thank you. I am sorry for your loss as well. Trust me, I am not that strong. I have my weakness as I am sure you understand, the pain is too hard to not be weak. I just KNOW I can do something good and I want that for others. Nothing can ever replace my Levi, I miss him beyond comprehension, but I want to do something good. Bless you!
