I am new to this area of the Dis and looking for some help!!! I already rubber stamp but I am trying to get my feet wet with scrap booking!!! I want to start with my Disney trips. DH and I first went in 03 then again twice in 06 April and December. I am not sure how to begin...

Each trip separate? combine 06? chronological? by park? To many choices and no idea where to start!!! :rotfl:

I am feeling a little overwhelmed so SOMEBODY PLEASE SAVE ME!!!!

I have a ton of pics and pics in the same spots- looking at how we have aged is really funny!!! We don’t have children yet so the pics are just us and DBIL's, oh Dmom too.

Any ideas and suggestions are welcomed!!!!

Welcome to our little corner, and to our little scrappin' addiction! ;) My advice would be to do whatever works for you. For me, I scrap chronologically, and if it happened on that day, it goes on that day (if we go to MK on 2 different days, they're separated, I don't combine them).

It's just DH & I, too, so I know what you mean about the aging pictures! ;) On some of our vacations, we travel with KAMommy and her DH, DD, & DS. No matter how many of us there are, I always have TONS of pics. So, I have one album (and some of them are huge) for each trip. It's just what works for me!

As you start to get some pages done, make sure you join us on the February scrapbooking challenge (or whatever month we're in). We are keeping up with the number of pages we all scrap in 2007 (we have an annual thread) and we're updating our pages on the monthly challenge thread. Come check it out! :)

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I am so- well- anal!!! In my mind it is hard to think of scrapping any other way than in chronological order but I was not sure how to handle the park hopping...

I am going to have to keep up with this forum too!!! What’s one more right?

How many pages do you usually make your books? Looking at all my pics this could get out of control!!!

I scrapbook chronologically. I dont park hop so that hasnt been an issue. But if I do go to MK on two separate days, they get separate entries. I do a title page for the day. It has the date, what park, park map on the page as a lead in.

The good thing about scrapping is there is no wrong way to do an album. What ever works for you - go with it. Experiment too.

I completely understand "anal". That is SO me! Sadly, my books are usually huge. I usually buy one of the post-bound scrapbooks at WDW, and I have had as many as 60-70 page protectors in it (120-140 "pages"). I am working on our June 2006 trip right now, and it is going to be at least that big. We went in September 2006 for my 30th birthday, and I couldn't find an album down there that I liked. When I came home, I started one of the Creative Memories Disney albums. I ended up having to use 2 of those, but I loved them. My Disney albums are probably going to have to have a room of their own! ;)

For the park-hopping, I usually scrap it as "we went to MK first--here are pics. Then, over to AK--here are the pics" Does that make sense?

I was afraid that might happen!!! Just one more thing that is Disney taking over!! LOL I was leary that my book might be pretty big, knowing how many pages you have makes me feel much better...THANKS! :thumbsup2

I follow your order for the scrapping... I think I am going to start with our most recent trip in December since it is still so fresh...nothing like the fresh thoughts of Disney to cheer up your day!!

Thanks so much for the input, any other special things you do?

I am about to begin scrapbooking our first trip to DL (last fall.) I also thought long and hard about how to lay it all out, having visited the various 'lands' in the two parks multiple times during our stay. But I also decided to tell the story chronologically, it just didn't seem right otherwise.

So now the photos are all printed out (ummm...an embarrassing number of them!) I'm ready to begin power sorting them onto pages and planning page embellishments. I don't typically get this organized, but really want to do a good job on this, and also hope it will help speed things along.

Good luck with your effort as well!

OK I took the first step. I sorted all my pics today!!!! :thumbsup2 I gave in and sorted them by day. Now I just have to pick which ones to print!!!

I found all of my pics from my 2003 trip. This was the trip BDB- before disboards!!:lmao: So we just got up and went where we felt like...I have not a clue how I am going to sort those...

Ok another ?? If you hop do you do your days in order or each park seperate??? Do you do a sepearte seciton for characters?

THANKS!!

Eventually my Disney book will be chronological, but right now, I am just scrapping events as I am inspired. I am getting a little nervous though, as I want to finish our July 2005 book before we go back this May. Schoolwork is competing with my scrap time, darn it, but I do want to graduate, after all LOL

OK I took the plunge and ordered all my pictures to be printed!!! For both April and December 2006 trips. I am trying to figure out how I might be able to condense b/t the 3 somehow. Any suggestions are welcome!!!

I will not even tell you how many :scared1: because ...well...there is no way any scrapbook would ever be big enough. I will pick my favs to scrap and put the rest in an album.

I also am new to scrapping and started my disney trip in january. I separated my pictures (printed about 400) into days, parks, resort, character meals, and started scrapping with the smallest envelopes first. I did Typhoon Lagoon first, then epcot because we spent just half a day there. I did my first morning at MK and got 8 pages, and that day we did LTT and MVMCP, so that one day will probably have 24 pages alone. I have done 25 pages, and have only used 130 pics so far. Once I'm done I will put them all in chronological order in the albums. I asked a similar question here and got lots of great advice, which helped me to decide to make as many pages as I need to preserve all those wonderful memories. It's great to hear people like Stitchisourhero talk about how big her albums are, and I'm aiming to be just like her.

I had bought a variety of disney stickers before our trip, and since I printed the pics out, went back when ACmoore had a sale and bought quite a few more with pictures and layouts in my head.

It's also great to check out everyones' layouts here for some ideas.

Good luck.

25 pages with 130 pics isn't bad at all! Hope you'll share some on the scrapbook page thread! :)

Try 5000 for our Dec 2005 trip! And yes I will scrap all of them. I'm a glutton for punishment! :lmao:
Those 5000 don't include the trip in April, Aug, and Oct. And we leave again in 15 days. I just finished my WDW July 2004 trip this week.:faint:

As for order, I scrapped the 2004 trip by park, threw in some restaurant pics and character pics at the beginning and end of each park. I did not however separate each park visit individually. I also took a few pages for random shots of the kids and the last page I had shots of the kids backs, looking out the window of the bus. That is my goodbye Walt page.

Is it more than 775? :rolleyes1

OK so I feel MUCH better now!!!! :teeth: I have condensed 2600 into a little over 500. I will have to order some more to fill in some places but I am waiting until it get started so I dont get some needlessly.

Thank you all for your feedback it helps soooo much!!! I will stop listening to the people around here about only a few from each day/ park.
