I was reading the UG last night and came across a mention of a store in DTD that is for scrapbooking and related products.

Has anyone here ever been to the store? Are the prices outrageous or are they comparable to other retailers? I have been hoping to do some scrapbooking for our upcoming WDW trip (May 12-16 Woohoo! :cheer2: ) but I haven't had much luck finding decent disney-related supplies locally, so I'm seriously thinking of making time for a trip to the marketplace to check out this store if it's worth it.

Also, any other recommendations for shopping? We won't have a huge budget for shopping, but it would be nice to come home with some nice souvenirs or toys for our son.

I didn't notice that much there that they didn't have at the gift shop in the resorts. I was actually quite disappointed. The prices were ok. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there but if I were going to DTD anyway then I would check them out.

It is WDW, so as expected the prices there are a little bit higher than what I usually pay at Walmart or a craft store. I think basically you can find all of the things that they have in the DTD store in the resorts and parks, but in the DTD store it is all in one place.

Don't get too excited. I was pretty disappointed at the DTD scrapbook store...in fact I only bought 2 things! And believe me, that says alot about the store! The prices were fair, not outrageous...although I would not have minded paying if they had some really cool, different stuff.

They have some cute things, but not like you would expect and the things that are there are sort of, let's say..."old school." Not sure why, but Disney is TOTALLY is missing the boat (or the cruiseship, as the case may be) when it comes to scrapbooking stuff.

I buy ALOT of my Disney scrapbook supplies on-line. EK Success, Creative Imaginations and Sandylion make some awesome Disney stuff -- thank goodness! Email me if you want and I will send you to some good Disney scrapbook sites.

WaltD4Me, I totally agree. It seemed to me that the colors were kind of muted and outdated. I bought more than two things, but the store was not that great. I too use lots of Sandylion stuff and EK Success. I also sell Creative Memories and we've got quite a bit of new Disney stuff out now too. I'm really hoping for a 12 x 12 album like our 7x7, but only time will tell.

ohhh!!! i'm so excited now to scrapbook!!!!!

I'm big into scrapbooking and was a bit disappointed by the store in DTD. But I wouldn't doubt that they'll start adding more things eventually. When I was there, I, too, only got 2 things: the Mickey deco scissors and the mickey eyelets.
