Scrapbooking - how do I get started

I would like to take up scrapbooking, how do I get started? DH recently bought me a DSLR so I have lots of pics to organise! I would like to start by making albums of DS 1st year!

I'd recommend you visit the DIS Scrapbooking community (it's near the bottom under "Creative Community"), UKScrappers.co.uk and Twopeasinabucket.com (I'm easyqueenie on the latter) - they'll help you out. Magazines are good too, I recommend Scrapbook Inspirations, it's my favourite and has a beginner's section in each issue and free gifts!

Just watch out - it'll bankrupt you!!

Oh I know!! I have taken so many pics of DS I don't know what to do with them! I have had a lot of them blown up on canvas etc but don't have enough walls to put them on!!

Jockey don't get too carried away with your scrapbook shopping.
DW & DD are both hooked and they get far more for their money in Florida.
Wal Mart hold a good range of stuff and really bargain paper packs.
There is a Jo-Annes on the 192 close to Wal Mart and a Micheals on ID as you head north not far past the turn off into Universal.
Get started now by all means but make sure you save plenty of money for your trip.

There seems to be quiet a few uk scrappers on this forum it might be an idea to see if some of them will post a few pictures of their layouts to give you some help.
Here is 1 that DW did of our late trip.

Tony - will buy a few basics to get me going but will wait until I get to Florida to stock up on supplies! Your DWs layout is lovely!
