Scrapbooking - A Query

Hiya,
I'm pretty sure someone on here will be able to help me!
(BTW I've been looking around and you all have some really great ideas and layout piccys!)
On a trip to the US West in Nov 2002, DBF and I came across a fabulous scrapbooking store in Jackson, CA. I've always been into crafts but SB is not very big here (the UK) I don't think... but I was in seventh heaven in that store!
We picked up a 'Pioneer E-Z Load 12 x 12 Memory Book', some backing sheets, stickers and these things...

We got one for each of the States we visited on the trip (Arizona, CA and Nevada) plus an FL one for this years trip...!

BUT! We have no idea what these State thingies are! We just went a bit mad and bought them but now have no idea what to do with them... do we just cut them out and use them as headers?

I hope you can help!

Tis now May and we have made no start on our SB at *all* but I am pressing DBF to sit with me one night and decide what we want to do so hopefully, maybe one day I can show you some layouts... but this mystery must be solved first!

I beleive they are page toppers. But there is really no "wrong" way to do a page so if you want to put it at the bottom or the middle, wherever is ok-as long as you like it.
Have fun! Once you get started you won't be able to stop.

bananiem is right, they can be used any way you like-- they are premade titles/ headers so that you can save a little time and effort-- or like me, to disguise bad handwriting!

Did you know there are other scrapbookers in the UK? and even scrapbooking stores (although not many).

We have a website called www.ukscrappers.co.uk which looks a lot like the dis, but is all about scrapbooking in the UK and has loads of links to all the UK stores.

Sorry for that brief advertisement, but thought it might be useful....

As for the toppers, I've seen all sorts done with them, sometimes they are just left as a rectangle and placed as a title near the top of the page, other times I've seen them trimmed right down to the lettering, so they look less 'pre-made' and again, they can be used as a title, or accent.

By the way - there is even a scrapbook store in Yorkshire, it's called PaperTrail and it's in Bridlington.
