Scrapbookers!

We are planning our trip for Sept '10 and i am a huge scrapbooker - i've even made my 5 year old an autograph book to take with us. i've heard that the scrapbook store in DTD closed? Is this true? i am so bummed i've been saving disney dollars forever to go there!!! Someone tell me it's still open!

I'm almost certain that it's closed, but you can find scrapbooking stuff in just about every shop.

Yup, it's gone. =( I was really upset when we went last April. You'll find things somewhere, just remember to keep EVERYTHING from your trip!

I'm a huge scrapper as well. I was very dissapointed in the selection ( or lack of) at the store they had. You could find just about everything they had in there in all the other Disney stores down there anyways.

I've found plenty of Disney stuff though at Hobby Lobby and JoAnn Fabrics. Also ordered some stuff online. And like a PP said... you can use alot of stuff from your trip. Park tickets, fast passes, maps, etc.

You can still find their kits, albums and such throughout the park and dtd. I go to the world of disney and get one the albums and kits with the year on it. I use my disney visa to get 10% off.

From my notes I have World of Disney in DTD and Mouse Gear in Epcot as having the most stuff. Guess I'll see when we get there.

Creative Memories has some cute stuff. I have their 12x12 Disney album for our last trip and I'll probably add to it this time though I'm going mostly digital now. I need to get the Disney digital stuff!

My sister sells Creative Memories and they have a lot of cute Disney stuff, but so does Joanns and Michaels. While around the World I saw stuff at Mouse Gears and a more limited ammount at our hotel giftshops, POP and AllStarSports, which I just realized I cannot abbreviate

Do you have an Archiver's in your area? Cord Camera and Scrapbook megastore?

Trust me, you dind't miss anything. I too, save up money when i heard about that store. I went, and in about 30 seconds, had seen the entire selection. The "store" was the size on my daughter's bedroom and 75% of the stuff in there was picture frames and such. The "scrapbooking" stuff was stickers (nothing special), Mickey head punches and a few kits, but all that stuff was available in stores at all the parks. It wans't anything worthwhile at all. I was SO bummed.

Check out the Scrapbooking site on the Dis (way at the bottom, under "Just for Fun" within the "Creative Community" section. The girls there are GREAT. There's a sticky for good links to buy Dsiney-themed scrapbooking supplies, among many other things. personally, I like www.mousememories.com and www.scrapyourtrip.com.

They have scrapbooking stuff in the resort shops as well as World of Disney DTD. The shop was not worth the time it took to find it

Thanks for asking this question, i was going to ask the same thing. So, it sounds like Mouse Gear in Epcot and World of Disney in Downtown Disney are the best places to get scrapbooking stuff? Anyone have any other suggestions? Do the the gift shops have scrapbooking sections or is it placed all over? I will be using the Creative Memories Coverset album, so i am really just looking for fun papers, paper kits, stickers etc and since this will be my souvenier I am hoping to not go to Joanne's back home. Thanks everyone!

Creative Memories did resize their pages last year and they are not a true 12x12 page.

I have to add that I have always also like mousememories.com for their selection.

No worries even though the store is gone. I hardly ever purchased anything there anyway. You can find the exact same stuff in:

World of Disney in DTD
Mouse Gear in Epcot
Main Street shop in MK
Resort gift shops

I agree with others, don't get too bummed about it.
My mom and I are huge scrapbookers and we were so excited about this store, but didn't buy one thing while we were in there. We were very dissapointed, you can get most of the things at other stores.

I'm sorry the store is closed too because we are going in May and I was looking forward to it - but I"m sure I"ll spend way to much in the stores haha!

One thing I noticed when I went last spring was that there were different packages and papers in each park so you might find that you buy a little bit all over.

We are luckily 90 minutes away from the SandiLion sticker outlet (they do a lot of Disney) and I bought lots of paper for 49 cents a sheet. I think I'm stocked for a couple of trips!
