I received this email this morning from dreameventsinc.com

http://www.dreameventsinc.com/orlando806.htm

The 2006 event is open for registration Monday 11/14 at 6pm eastern time. The event it self is August 24-27. The prices have gone up a bit, However I think it is still a pretty good deal over all.

They have also posted the dates for 2007 which will be Sept 6-9. Kind of late if you ask me since the kids are in school and Labor Day falls on the 4th. I doubt I would do 2007 but I'm really thinking of doing 2006. DH wants to go with me!

Is anyone else interested in going in 2006?

Well you know I am!

I just don't get why they are bumping it later and later, leaving us with kids no other option but to travel without them (what is wrong with me - finding that a problem?)

Seems leaving it earlier in August would allow more to come by combining it with a family trip (and getting the convention rate on the CR) and then sending the DH home with the kids so we can finish it off with a nice quiet weekend ALONE!!!!

I think that is the week we are planning to go to Disney next year! I'll have to think about this.

Can someone answer a ??? for me. My family will be going down that week. We choose that week since it is the same time we went this year and it was not very crowed. I would love to do a day crop, but spend the rest of the time with family. My ?? is does this convention make for large crowds at the parks?? Thanks for you help.

Nope, there wasn't much change in the crowds at all. As a matter of fact most of the girls didn't even hit the parks. Many of them are local so they can do Disney whenever. I did go to the parks more than scrap because mom had never been but it was quite pleasant except for the heat.
Some did slip out long enough to see the fireworks or go eat but that was about it.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Gee I'd like to go just to use the Die Cuts! ...wow! I like scrapbooking but I may be moving out west again soon so I'll probably be nearer to Disneyland!

Have a great time if you go!

Disneymommie- SDV's are not really conventions but rather scrapping getaways, you set up and can scrap till Sunday afternoon. Oh, and they do have vendors there. I haven't gone to the Disney one but I always go to the one in Atlantic City (with the exception of last year since it was the same weekend that my sister passed away - but Nancy gave me a full refund she's great  ).

I look forward to any and all SDVs I go - a whole weekend of staying up till I want & scrapbooking, massages & then more scrapbooking :cheer2: :cheer2:
