Scotland to WDW, which airport

 Hi All,

We normaly fly from Aberdeen to LGW with BA as they seem to be the only airline that do this, we have flown from Glasgow to MCO and SFB (Sanford, with Aitours first time we went to Orlando) Have also flown with Icelandair from Glasgow but IMHO would never fly with them again as their cabin crew were moody, bad mannered, and just downright unhelpful  .

So what we have preferred to do in the past is Fly BA from ABZ to LGW then either fly with Virgin or BA to MCO :)

Cyrano, Have you looked at TCD? (Travel City Direct) You would still have to get from wherever you are in the NE Scotland to either Glasgow, (only at cartain times of the year though :sad2: ) Manchester or LGW but their prices seem to be better than either Virgin or BA. We are thinking of giving them a try this Xmas and even with an upgrade to Sunshine Upper Deck (PE) it still works out cheaper than most of the big names :).

Wish we could fly direct from Aberdeen to Mco :cloud9: although i can't see that ever happening in my lifetime though ;)

Luv Audrey,

Eyoreaud, we are also based in Aberdeenshire so appreciate the options that you have taken.
Would be nice if Aberdeen became a "real" international airport :teeth:

When you have flown to Gatwick do you do an overnight stop or connection straight on to Orlando flight?

Reid

We live in Aberdeen and either do BA or British Midlands - we usually fly with United and connect at Heathrow. I like using United as I can get 2 free stopovers. So this summer flying to Orlando for two weeks (via DC), then to Los Angeles to do Disneyland and a Disney Cruise.

We've flown with Continental Glasgow (GLA) to Orlando (MCO) via Newark (EWR) every year with Continental and would recommend them. We've flown back from Tampa twice as it was cheaper. We once flew via Iceland with Icelandair but I didn't like it at all. The best bit about going via Newark is that when you land in Orlando you've already cleared immigration and you collect your luggage, clear customs, get the hire car and your off!!

Fit Like Cyrano?

If we were flying with BA straight through, we would do it without an over night stop :) But if we were flying with Virgin from LGW we would definitely do an overnight stop with Twilight Check-in. Reason being, If flight from ABZ to LGW were to be delayed then you would miss your connecting Virgin flight(NOT TO MENTION A LOT OF MONEY!!) But if you were to go with BA all the way, then if you were delayed then BA would put you on the next available flight at no extra cost :goodvibes . So that's put the cat among the pigeons eh?, Hope i havn't confused you too much :crazy.

Feel free to PM me if you need to know anything else :chat:

Audrey.
