Scotland DIS Meet

Ok at last, decided to take the plunge and organise a Scotland meet.

The date would be Sunday 4th July
Venue - Strathclyde Country Park. There are loads of things to do here - both for sunshine and the usual Scottish inclement weather!!! There are also 2 hotels onsite if anyone wants to stay over - Holiday Inn Express and a new hotel called Alona.

Strathclyde Park has loads of amenities including M & D's theme park and also all the usual country park things - boat hire, cycling etc if the weather is good.

So two choices - good weather - picnic, outside fun, or bad weather - ten pin bowling, eat indoors etc.

the nearest airport would be Glasgow - although Prestwick (Ryanair) is also less than an hour away.

Cath....you have just caused me a panic attack!

When I read that the proposed meet was on Sunday 3 July, I though that I'd made a right mincemeat of our flight booking....we are due to travel on Saturday 3 July. Fortunately a check of the calendar soothed my racing pulse as I find that I've booked Saturday flights after all....phew.

As I will be otherwise engaged...losing my Virgininity from Manchester....I hope that you will forgive my failure to travel the 10 miles to Strathclyde Park on Saturday 3 or Sunday 4 July. Have a nice time

I will get back to you nearer the time to confirm but take me as a 95% certain to come. My cousin is getting married in Fintry the day beofre and we may be staying the night, not sure yet. I will definately come if I am home at a reasonable time on the Sunday.
Did you see the bit in the paper last week about the Tornado at M&D's breaking down again?

I'll try and get Bouncy and her crowd to come too.

I can definately come now Wedding has been called off so I will be home. But more excting than that is I am off to Florida on July 5th so M&D's will be great to get me in the mood. (If you have been to M&D's please humour me, I know it's not in the same league as WDW but it has rides).

I was taking part in a John O' Groats to Land's End run and many of the runner were from the Police so we spent a night in the police blocks NOT the cells.

Unfortunately the Scotland DIS meet will have to be postponed for now because not enough people can go due to holidays or whatever !! However, hopefully another can be arranged and more people will be able to attend - maybe the autumn??
