Hi, As I was just doing this for our trip in 8 days
I thought I should post this. I haven't seen this tip on the boards (though it's probably here somewhere.)
A few (rainy) trips ago I discovered that our cheaper umbrellas weren't waterproof and the rain actually dripped on our heads. So for the next trip, and each since, I have waterproofed (Scothcguard, etc.) our hats and umbrellas. It works great!
Keeps our hair drier and I think it keeps the hats cleaner (I wear the baseball type at WDW-but I'm not really a hat person!)
I'm also going to use it on a couple of WDW cloth totes I have-I know we'll get rain so this will just help keep everything drier.
WDW here we come!

I used it in Epcot and couldn't believe that the water was dripping on me! I have scotchguarded it, but haven't been brave enough to try it in the rain again yet. Glad to hear it worked!
