For kids and adults alike, I have the following question... what great and unique drinks do you recommend in the World Showcase (and across WDW).

I'm especially interested in the availability of great Scotches (are they available) in EPCOT, and an orange/champagne-type drink in France that I once heard about but missed on my last trip in 2008.

Thanks everyone!!

The Rose and Crown Pub at Epcot has a great selection scotch, single malt flight, Johnnie Walker flight and cognacs. It's a great place to take a break and cool down with a nice drink. If you stop in during the week be sure to ask for Carl.

My husband is a big single malt fan - I don't remember all the ones he's had, but a few have managed to stick in my brain. ;) I know you can get Lagavulin and Oban at Rose & Crown. I think DH has been able to get Macallan or Laphroig at California Grill or Citricos.

OK, that had me cracking up. My DH is from Scotland and there's like only 1 type of Johnnie Walker that he even considers marginally tolerable. He swears to me that no one in Scotland would ever call Johnnie Walker "whisky" (the Scottish word for scotch--notice the lack of "e" to differentiate it from whiskey). I guess maybe they might drink JW in other parts of the UK, but ... :confused3

The Orange thing the OP mentioned is the Grand Marnier Orange Slush - they sell those & the Grey Goose Citron Lemonade Slush at a wine stand (next to the icecream stand) on the main walkway (water side) in front of the France pavillion. Which is next to UK, if you want to meet in the middle when hubby gets his scotch.

I had seen Samantha Brown on the Travel Channel say this was one of her favorite things, and so I had to try it. OMG, it was great. I ended up having two. I'm not much of one for alcohol, but I could've sat there (there were some cafe type tables & chairs set up by the water) for hours, just people watching and sipping. It was a lovely March day, about 75 degrees and partly cloudy (just enough clouds so it didn't get too hot).

Of course, they had the very Disney price of $7.00 each!

Other than that, as I said, I'm not much of a drinker - more the fruity-drink with an umbrella type occasional drinker. Usually when I go out to eat and get these drinks, you really can't taste much alcohol (which is ok by me). But this last trip I notices EVERYTHING tasted pretty strong, except that Grand Marnier Slush and the Amaretto Sour I had at Jellyrolls. So they're not skimping - though for their prices, I would hope not. Except, not exactly how *I* like my drinks.

So basically, to sum up, I'm the last person to ask about good drinks! :rotfl:

for scotch you can go to the Belleview room at BW. it used to be called the "scotch bar". it's quiet and has a fine selection of single malts with a sampler of 3 for around $10. Fultons at DTD also has an amazing collection of Scotch, Irish and other whiskeys.

DW loves the slushies both the Grans Marnier and Grey Goose. there was a thread here about how to make them at home and we've had some very pleasant success.

-Lapu Lapu can get bought at the polynesian ... it is served in a cored out pineapple!
-Blue Glowtini .. i had one at Boma at animal kingdom lodge .. is a mixture of citrus vodka, blue curacao, peach schnapps, sour mix and pineapple juice, served in a martini glass with sugar on the rim and a glow cube inside.

OK, where do you find that one? Sounds like something I'd like! :woohoo:

Editted: Oh wait, I figured out how to look it up - it looks like it's a pool bar thing mostly (including at MY resort - WooHoo). But if it's at any restaurants, please let me know!
