Looking at collecting the Scorcerers of the magic kingdom cards.

Do you collect them from somewhere on Main Street?
Am I right in thinking that they are free?
Whats the interactive part like, is that worth doing?
How many do you get in a pack?

They look beautiful to collect and my dd6 will love them.

:goodvibes

You collect them from the Firehouse, which is on the left hand side as you enter Magic Kingdom, before you get to the bottom of Main Street.

You can get one pack per Magic Band (or ticket) per day. I can't remember off hand how many cards in a pack - about a dozen I think.

The interactive part is fun but it does take a little while and there can often be quite a few people waiting at some of the spots. My daughter and I did it but I think we are probably a bit older than the intended audience so, while it was fun, we got bored quite quickly. We carried on collecting the card for my DS though. Your DD will probably really enjoy it.

you can get a starter pack at the firehouse

this pack will include a map and a key/keyhole card.
That key is your "identifier" for the game. Meaning you'll need to use it to resume your adventure.
For example, if you visit MK twice during your stay, you'll need your keyhole card to resume the game where you left off. If you forget that key, you can get a new one at the firehouse, but you'll start a new game and lose any level you've gained during your first play.

Getting new cards can be done in several ways.

You can get one pack of cards per day (and per playing guest) at the firehouse. But some CMs will only give those packs if you've actually played the game. (used at least one game window inside the park)
some CMs will give the packs anyway.
(in that regard, some CMs will require that a guest be old enough to play to register that guest on the game. For example our son who was 5 then was not registered as a player, and did not receive cards)

You can also get a pack of card on the same day if you have levelled up.

you can also buy a booster pack from the Emporium (or disneystore) this will be a board game to play at home, but will include 7 cards that can also be used in the park for the interactive game. (pricey, at $14)

There are exclusive and rare cards distributed during MNSSHP and MVMCP

CMs at the firehouse can walk you through a sample game to learn the basic rules.

IIRC it's 5 cards per pack.

You can also collect them at a cart between Frontierland and Liberty Square. When we did it this was usually far less busy than the firehouse.

Found this map - where is says Sorcerer's Training:

I have never heard of this??? What ages is this for and what is the aim of the game

Don't forget to the the Pirates adventure game with the maps & quests in adventure land - we loved this! There are some of our adventure maps from last year.

How do you understand if you've leveled up?
I've played a bit during my last visit, I think I've finished 3 or 4 missions. Isn't this enough to level up?

when you beat the game on easy (level 1), you can try the medium level (2), and then the hard level (level 3)

each level has different rules, (on the hard level for example, you automatically fail your attack if you are using the same card for the 3rd time.

Thanks all this is great and thanks zippy99 for the pirates info.

Me and DD6 love anything like this and with DD6 it will be a good to talk about whilst waiting for shows/in lines ..... i'm such a nerd. And it's free :cool1:

DH not so keen at the moment but i bet he will be when we are there.
