Scooter/Wheelchair Seating at Parades

Hello,
Our family has been to Disney World many times. However, at the end of November we will be going for the first time with my mom in a scooter.
I was wondering if anyone can provide tips for scooter/wheelchair seating at parade times.
How early should you get there?
Are there any locations that you would recommend?
Any other tips would be appreciated.

When you enter each park get a "Guidemap For Guests With Disabilities" which will either be marked at the map holderrs in the front of the Park or go into Guest Relations to ask for one. They have the reserved viewing area marked on those maps.

Normally they will have the person in the wheelchair or ECV at the very front against the ropes and will have them parked wheel-to-wheel for maximum capacity. Other members fo the party will stand behind the wheelchair or ECV.

For daytime parades, scout out the areas ahead of time. Some of them are facing into the sun, while if you got a spot outside of the handicapped viewing area, the sun would be behind you.

For Illuminations, you can usually find a better spot (less crowded) by just parking the ECV against the fence surrounding the water.
As Cheshire Figment mentioned, wheelchairs and ECVs will be lined up along the front of the viewing area, almost touching.
The handicapped viewing area by the entrance to World Showcase can get VERY busy. When we last used it, there were actually 3 rows of ECVs/wheelchairs one behind the other.

It's really hard to say how busy the handicapped viewing areas will be on any given night, but it would be safe to say that if you arrive 45 minutes to an hour early you should get a spot. Sometimes the 'slow' times for the park in general are busy times for people with disabilities - many choose to travel during the less busy times to avoid crowds.

Do you have to stay in the handicapped viewing areas? Specifically MK? We are going to have a wheelchair and I would rather be in the middle of main street. can a wheelchair be right up to the curb on mainstreet, or will we be told to move?

You can put a wheelchair or ECV where ever it will fit! We get there early and I put the front wheel of my ECV as close to the curb as I can and my family sits next to me.
