I need to rent a scooter for my mother in law. I received info from DW for three companies, Walker and Care both about $150 for 5 days and Scoot around for $200. Has anyone used any of these companies and know if there is a big difference. I was thrown off a little after calling Care and the guy who answered the toll free number was on a cell phone and did say he could help me out if I called back tomorrow morning. He stated he was on a service call. Scoot-around seems to be a national company according to their website. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Both Walker and Care have been recommended a lot on the disABILITIES board. I've not used any offsite rental as we either travel with our own chair or rent a manual chair from Disney. I did see a really nice little scooter at the parks one day and asked where they rented it. They said Walker, and they'd been renting from them often and were pleased with the service.

I used Walker for years until I moved down here 2.5 years ago. Then I bought a used ECV from Walker at a very deep discount, and it still runs well.

For the last few months I worked as a greeter at Epcot and noticed that most of the off-site rentals coming through my gates (or newarby ones) seemed to be either Walker or Randy.

One "problem" with Scootaround is they have canopies on the scooters. This is not too bad if you are using a car and will be taking it apart and putting it in the trunk, but if you are going to be relying on Disney transportation a canopy can be quite a problem on the buses and monorails.

Walker, Care and Randy's are the 3 that people mention the most on the disABILITIES Board. I don't think you would go wrong with any of them.

The biggest difference between them is that Walker and Care will deliver to your resort without you being there. Both of them are also full service medical equipment vendor, so if you need other equipment too, one of those might be a better choice, Randy's is only for mobility equipment and requires that you be there.
Randy's usually seems to be a little less expensive.

Thanks for all the help, as long as Walker is a reputible company which it seems it is, we will probably go with them. Thanks to all again.

I have used Care on my last 4 trips. They were the only ones to call me back when I first realized I needed an ECV delivered the same day. They have been great on all trips.

I have used both Walker and Care on my last few trips. I would recommend either one.

I also want to recommend Randy's Mobility. They won't drop off the vehicle in advance, you have to be checked in and they will bring it to your room. This is a distinct advantage for renters unfamiliar with operation, because the representative will make sure you know how to use it and, if necessary, how to disassemble and reassemble it.

I used Walker Mobility and was very impressed. The ECV was fully charged and waiting for me at the resort. There were good instructions provided and the Disney CM made sure I knew how everything worked. The last day I just left it with the luggage CM's and Walker came and picked it up later.

We just returned this morning from a week in Disney with a scooter from Randy's. I would not hesitate to rent from them again, we called when we arrived, they gave me a time for delivery and were right on time. They went over everything with my husband, who was the driver. We arranged the pickup time for the following week and again they were right on time.

Looking forward to planning our next trip!
