I will likely be renting a scooter at park entrance this trip. How early can you do this. Any chance its before early entry?

In Epcot can you rent at both entrances?

Do Disney rental come with ability to charge? Do you need to?

If you will need a scooter for your whole trip I recommend you rent from an off site company. The Disney scooters are large, not as easy to drive, are set to go very slowly. Plus if you are not at the park at open you run the risk of them running out.

Thank you that is not a good option this trip so we need to go with park rental as needed

Also having someplace to sit while waiting for transportation is priceless.

I would have a backup plan in case they are out even at that early time. it is first come first served. and as others have said the park rental is no help waiting for transportation at end of day with no seating available while waiting

Yes, you can rent them at the International Gateway at Epcot. You can’t charge Disney’s scooters.

I've only rented once but they did tell us if we ran out of power or something to call and they would troubleshoot or exchange it. I don't know how they do that if they are sold out or if someone has more experience but I hope that helps. We did not need to charge it.

I would strongly recommend renting offsite, scooters can run out of availability prior to official park opening due to early entry guests. Also, the in park rentals are very difficult to maneuver and go VERY slow. Don't get me wrong, you shouldn't go faster than people walk, but babies can crawl faster than the park rentals go.

If they run out of power, they usually have a few in reserve that they can change them out for, but the batteries have been dying more and more frequently, so the likelyhood of being able to exchange them out late in the day drops constantly.

I know you said that renting offsite isn't a good option for this trip, perhaps if you let us know why not, we can assist in finding a way to make it a better option for you, as really if you are going to need it every day, offsite is the way to go, if for no other reason than price, but also because there is the very real possibility they will all be gone by the time you get to the park. When we were there last, they were selling out before park opening most of the time.

I went to Epcot during the Food and Wine Festival and entered thru the IG. I spent the first hour I was there gritting my teeth and trying to walk. Around noon, I gave up and went back to the IG to try to rent a scooter. Sure, they had plenty! Since then, I've noticed and always recommended that, if possible, rent from the IG. One of the advantages of staying at an Epcot or skyliner resort.
