Scooter Rental DLR Questions

After having a long talk with my mom yesterday I think we're in the understanding that looking into a rental scooter at DLR is a really good idea. Can anyone answer some questions on them for me or point me where I might find the info?

Anyone know the cost of a daily scooter rental?

Do we have to return the scooter when we leave the park? We're staying at GCH so mid-day breaks will be taken. Will we be able to take it back to the hotel or does it need to stay behind the gates?

Does DLR tend to have enough to cover rental requests or are they gone pretty quickly?

Does she need to bring any handicap info with her. She does not use a scooter on a daily basis at home but she does have a handicap parking sticker, would she need to bring that or information from her doctor?

Can we rent from an outside company and have it delivered and ready for us when we arrive at the hotel? If so, can you give me the company name? Any cost info ideas would be great as well.

Do know if you rent from Disney the scooter, and it's the same with strollers, can not leave the security area. So if you want to take it back to the hotel, any hotel on or offsite, you will want to rent from someone other than disney.

Thank you so much for the response. They are located directly from Disney which is perfect. Will be contacting them.

Scooter Village is my "go to" scooter rental place. They can deliver and pick up (free) from GCH.

ETA: you don't need "proof" of a disability to rent from Disney or a third party company. That would be against the Americans with Disabilities Act. Disney rental is $75 (but you get $20 back at the end of the night as a deposit--so it works out being $55 per day). Don't know what SV's current rate is.

If you are staying at GCH, and your Mom can walk a short distance, you can drop the scooter off at bell services at night and they will charge it for you. Otherwise, you need to take it to your room and charge it--for a couple bucks tip I find it easier to let bell services do it. It's hard to maneuver in the rooms.
