Scooter or Electric Wheelchair?

I had back surgery at the beginning of December. We have a trip planned for the end of May. My recovery is not going as well as planned. I'm otherwise in good health. I'm thinking I still will not be able to walk that much for the trip. I'm thinking of renting a scooter or electric wheelchair for the week. I've never used either one for any purpose, but I will need to have back support. I'm only 4'11". Are the seats on scooters adjustable or should I go with an electric wheelchair instead? Also, which is the best company to go with? I may not need to use the whole time. Can these be parked in stroller parking areas when not in use? If I decide to wait and see if I need something once I'm there , do you think it it possible to rent last minute. Thanks in advance.

Unless you use a electric wheelchair regularly most companies will not rent one to you. So you really should look at ecvs. In the FAQ is a list of ones people have used and are generally considered good. You can look at the type they rent to get an idea of size and type of seat etc

Your local retail and grocery stores have scooters to use for free. Try it out and see how it feels. The portable, travel scooters that you usually rent are smaller and nicer. I don't consider them adjustable, but you may be able to buy a cushion that could help you.

I agree with the previous poster that it's unlikely you will be able to rent an electric wheelchair.

We use Apple Scooter with no issues that haven't been resolved relatively promptly. There are times when we walk (especially in a queue that is particularly twist-and-turny or is dark, because I really can't drive the scooter - in those combined conditions, especially. Nemo, I'm looking at you). We then park in stroller parking.

I will say the last trip or so I have had cast members here and there become very insistent that I take my scooter inside places. There is no way I am taking it into a dark, crowded theater or line because I can't park it like that. I usually just firmly say that it's not possible with my issues and they zip it.

I'm 5'1" and I can use the 4 wheel Go-Go ECV from Apple without an issue. The tiller is adjustable so you can make it closer to you as needed. I'd get the 4 wheel and not the 3 wheel Go-Go since the 4 wheel almost has like a foot rest and the 3 wheel doesn't so I had a little trouble resting my legs due to my height.

Thanks everybody! I was seriously considering just canceling, but I feel much better now. I appreciate the responses.

I have used Walker mobility 5 of 6 trips. Had a problem 2 x, one was my own fault, thought it was charging when it wasn't. Both times I had a new scooter at whatever park we were at within 30 minutes.
