Scoop pin for sale again...

Nat - your right, there is no right or wrong answer. Everyone has a right to their opinion and not everyone will see eye to eye.

Donna - I know (because I was approached) on 2 separate ocassions to trade for the pin. Neither trader was an individual that attended the event of 20 people. One of the traders had more than one scoop pin to trade but I wasn't about to give up a HM dangle for it. From what I was told, they were told they could trade them for their HG.

know what the rules were...and the story has been told a dozen times..but I guess it is not interesting enough ...were the original people that were at the Survivor event..and If the people that told you that we could trade for our HG..were not at the event..then how could they know that???

If I was to have an unlimited amount of Scoop pins coming my way, and I certainly have a HG, then why am I being so dumb as to GIVE mine away...and not trade for my HG..and I have been approached many many times, and been offered my HG for this pin..

Why??? Because I was asked to wear it...not trade or sell it!!!! And I haven't...we were told we could award the pin once to another person, telling Scoop who it was first, and acting like a Scoopie Elf..and Scoop would replace ours...period...June has awarded hers, Eddie has given his, I am giving mine, and others have done the same..

I have been offered a Mickey for Pres...a HMD, a Raven pin...among others.. Mario the people who wanted to trade w/ you and the ones on pin pics I am hoping weren't at the original event
and probably could care less about the pin, and as I said before, there were people who went to see Scoop just to receive his pin...did they intend on keeping his rules..NO!!! He even had one honest guy turn it down, because he couldn't keep his rules..now him I respect...

So anyone who is repeating what they think was said at the first event w/o being there, can't possibly know for sure....

Trust me Donna, I believe you. I agree with everything you have stated about selling/keeping thepin. I'm just telling you what has happened to me and that there are traders out there that have multiple scoop pins to trade. Evident by the auctions (2) and 4 traders on pinpics. The one person I know isn't even on pinpics and has (or had) 2 to trade outside of the 2 they were awarded. With 750 pins, it was bound to happen.

A quote from someone at the event from a post on dizpins....

After the competition was over Scoop gave a wonderful speech about how he would like us to continue the magical moment that we had that day. He gave us a Scoop pin to wear and told us not to worry about losing it and that he would replace it one time. But that if we wanted to trade it for a Holy Grail or Gift it to someone else he would still replace it one time. He said it is yours to do with as you wish.

He asked that we let him know the circumstances behind the replacement so that he could record who got the Scoop pin in his book so he didn't inadvertantly give them a second one at a later date. Or if it was lost. He also asked that if we should trade it in a Magical Moment (for he understood for some that trading for an HG would be a Magical Moment for those of us who have never had anything in our bags that would get one.) to do so with someone who would hopefully appreciate the pin and keep it in their collection. That he trusted each of us to be ambassadors for these particular pins was an incredible feeling. He was basically telling us this is your pin to do with as you wish and I trust you to do something special with it. And in my conversations with him recently he mentioned that none of us has disappointed him.

It’s our pin to do what ever we want to its precious to some a commodity to be bought and sold. I had more fun giving mine away than selling it.

I have the AP and that’s all that matters.

That's the problem with e-mail or posts. People can get the tone of one's comment. I don't sweat the small stuff Ed. Nothing bothers me, it just rolls off.

Of course I want you and Donna to attend the October meet. I need someone to help me rack leaves.

Yes, please do come see us Ed! Maybe we can even come up with a new pin hunt where you have to rake to find them. But if we do that, it HAS to be in my yard, not your's Mario. I have lots more leaves!

Sure.... you just can't find anyone that will trade them for LE leaves though.....
