Scissors??

Sure, just not on board a plane in the carryon bag.

We close our suitcases with bright orange cable ties. This way we can see at once whether or not they were opened by HSA.

We also pack a small pair of manicure scissors in an outside unlocked zippered pocket of a checked bag, to cut the ties with when we get to our room. All have passed DCL security.

Dis has confiscated knives for the duration of the voyage, I have read on these boards.

I do put scissors in the outside pocket of my carry-on bag. They are children's blunt-end scissors made by Fiskars. Never have had a problem and have never had them confiscated. HTH

So should nail clippers be put in carryon or checked luggage for the cruise? No flying here.

Assuming you have typical, small manicure scissors, you should have no trouble bringing them onto the ship. Tweezers, nail clippers, and nail files are fine too.

For luggage that's going onto the ship, the same security restrictions apply to carry-on and checked bags. After all, both wind up in your stateroom, and you have access to everything in them. Pocket knives are prohibited, but small grooming tools are fine.

Regarding scissors when flying, the TSA allows plastic or metal scissors with blunt ends in your carry-on bags. However, if you have scissors with pointed ends, they must go into your checked luggage. Tweezers, nail clippers, and nail files are allowed in carry-on and checked bags.

I have a "paper doll" project that I wanted to bring on the plane to do with DD in November, so I guess if I am understanding correctly, I can do this. I will make sure to bring kids scissors with blunt edges.

I there somewhere online that I can read these regulations?

What does TSA stand for?? Travel security administration??

I thought I could google it.

Thanks,
Susan

And remember, whatever type of scissors you end up bringing, DO NOT run with them.....
