Scion questions

Has anyone purchased a Scion? We're looking at the xA (not the box that most people think of as the Scion) and we've never bought a new car on our own before. This will be our first huge purchase as a married couple and we're just trying to figure it all out. The price seems non-negotiable, which doesn't make sense to me. I thought all car pricing (minus Saturns) was negotiable? Are you happy with the car? Did you get stick or automatic? Hmm...That's all I can think of now, I might have more questions later. Thanks!

I don't have a Scion, but I did look at them.

The Scion's are "no-haggle" pricing. You pay the sticker.

It should be a very good car--it is a Toyota.

See, that's what I needed to know. I hadn't heard from anyone that they were no-haggle, weird since all the other cars on the lots can be negotiated. Scions are their own brand sort of, from what I understand, they're just owned by Toyota, kind of like Lincoln is to Ford.

What did you end up getting just out of curiosity? We've looked at some other similar cars, just found that the scions were a good value.

Actually, I ended up getting a Toyota Highlander, of all things! :rotfl:

What started it all was that I was going to get a smaller, commuter car. I started looking at the Toyota Matrix. That was around $18,000. While I was on the lot, I looked at the Scion tc I think it was--the sporty coupe. I loved that car!! But, when I sat in the back, my head hit the ceiling!! My son is getting very tall, so I knew this would not work for us. Then I looked at Camry's. I already have one so I didn't want another one. I then got a Highlander because I've just always loved them.

But the Scion's (all of them) are great cars. They all have Toyota engines. It is Toyota's segment market for the Generation X'ers.

The Matrix was what we were originally looking at! Too funny. I loved it, but technically it's overkill for us. We're newlyweds, kids aren't planned anytime soon, and it's just more space that we need for a bigger pricetag.

The xC was nice. We're looking at the xA, it's pretty much a small Matrix IMO. DH is 6'4" or something like that, so headroom was big for him too. It's not as much as the xB or the Matrix, but his head doesn't hit the roof, so he loves it. Our other car is impractical, so we wanted a 4-dr, so didn't even get into the xC.
